I've setup a VitalPBX to give it a go for a small setup.

Edit - I never actually spoke on my phones before - now I discover I only have one way audio - out from my VOIP phone to my cell phone, but not back.

I have outbound calls working, but inbound is not.
I have two extensions setup, both phones are registering.

My phones are Yealink T22P (yep old phones).

Any thoughts why I can't call between extensions?
FYI - I also can't call into the PBX and reach an extension - I know I'm reaching the PBX because of the CDR report
The top two entries show me trying to call from one ext to another and it failing, the bottom marked one shows my call into the PBX, attempting to go to Ext 100, and failing.

Now with the discovery of one way audio, I have something to look for.

I'm guessing a NAT related issue.
Found one post talking about enabling RTP Symmetric, but that didn't solve the issue.

One way audio is always a NAT/firewall issue.

I've seen a lack of STUN settings cause this before, as well. (Which is a form of firewall issue.)

UDP limits can cause these issues sometimes.

I would rate that as NAT, but yeah.

OK, this is clearly the issue.

VitalPBX doesn't see my external IP.

Yup, you missed a setting someplace. Forget where. I do not have this system memorized. In fact, I don't even have one spun up right now.

                            OK - Progress.

I changed my Ext to SIP from PJSIP and now the phones work. Well, at least I was able to call the DID I assigned and it was sent to the phone I have with me. Plus I have two way audio.

So SIP on port 5060 works.

Swapped back to PJSIP 5062, the phone still registers, and makes out going calls.. but inbound is no go.

                            Current error message:

The phone number you are trying to reach is currently experiencing temporary technical difficulties, please try your call again later.

Why would that matter? the PBX talks to Skyetel and that part is working fine... it's only the phones that aren't working correctly.

Are you saying they all need to use the same port?

When you change port numbers, it changes everywhere. So can cause lots of issues in unexpected spots.

And my second biggest complaint with VitalPBX. Not using PJSIP on port 5060.

Because you didn't tell Skyetel to use port 5062

                                          FFS

Why would that matter? the PBX talks to Skyetel and that part is working fine... it's only the phones that aren't working correctly.

Are you saying they all need to use the same port?

When you change port numbers, it changes everywhere. So can cause lots of issues in unexpected spots.

And my second biggest complaint with VitalPBX. Not using PJSIP on port 5060.

Yeah, that's ridiculous. They have this weird obsession with the deprecated or about to be deprecated chan_sip. Their support pushing that is part of their problems.

We try to move pjsip to 5060 right away on setups and we never use chan_sip. Not had any issues yet.

Pretty sure that says port 5062...

which is originally what I set ALL of my exts up as, as well.
