Pulling data back from a hard drive .
Had a site crash, on Friday morning. An external hard drive like a WD Elements or something a bit more business grade?
500 Gb Sata Drive, The other one ( We raid 2 500 GB Sata Drives ) Was what was causing the issue, This is what I was told to do.
You're restoring to a single disk or from a single disk. The i was told to do it part doesn't really matter, just asking to be nosy.
From a single disk. Friday when I said I was running recovery disk?
I didn't, Im doing that today after I pull the data back from this Disk.

Gotcha, so you're just recovering data. Well fun times ahead (now to see if the backup actually works)

Uh the internet is running really slow, can someone pop over and take a look
Me: Yea the Business uses the internet to backup everything for the company to offsite locations and this uses bandwidth, there isn't anything I can do about it being slow at the moment; because I cannot interrupt the backup so you can watch youtube and listen to spotify.
Uh but it'll be done by noon or so
Me: There isn't a solid way for me to answer that, as the backup is dependant on the delta changes to the shares
Uh okay I'll see what I can do. . .

Got my coffee. Let's do this!

Also dependent on people trying to watch YouTube.

Kids to school, coffee in hand. now to deal with a Twilio SIP trunk not working inbound.

On a call asking why they are charging us $9,000 for some consumer garbage Cisco router, when we already have a better router in place.
-
AT&T says that they never have problems with these routers. Yet AT&T themselves can't take phone calls right now, their own phones are down. And we have a new client on AT&T, and their phones are down, too. So "it works for us" doesn't hold much water.
-
@scottalanmiller You sure you're talking to AT&T and not Windstream??

Fiber service and you did not opt to not use their router?
-
Just got told to stop what i was doing with that PC that crashed, Because The other tech's dont know how to fix the issue with the way this is set up.
He called it "an extra Slot" on the mother board, so we have to set the two hard drives up differently, and he doesnt know how to do that so i need to stop " let the guy who retired 2 years ago come in later this week and mess with it. He has parts that he can swap out and we dont know where they are or if they're the right ones."
So now Im working on other tickets. . . Because What everyone else says goes, regardless. is it lunch time yet?

They charge almost as much without it, they are telling us now. Their box looks like garbage.

That is their "in a box" deal, you don't get any choices there. Hate that solution.

Here is a quote I got Wednesday from @Phil-CommQuotes for a site around St Louis.
AT&T Fiber. Yeah the cost is only nominally different without their router. But so much better to deal with.

Yeah, cheap consumer crap. Looks like old 3COM gear with a sticker slapped on it. What a joke, and they keep saying this is their enterprise class solution. Is this "enterprise" to AT&T? I think they don't understand what enterprise means.

Migrating S3 to Wasabi
How are you liking it?
I have been using it for a while but not heavily as S3 before. The speeds are very fast and I can use AWS Cli for both. So now since I have used for over a month the pricing and no download costs outweighs S3 by a lot.
Just finished migrating the S3 buckets to Wasabi. If you are not up for using the AWS CLi and downloading the content to your computer, you can use Acembly (Free only for 1 user, which was all I needed)
https://acembly.com/I am using rclone to backup my NextCloud data. It works great!
Edit: Backing up to Wasabi!
