@scottalanmiller if I am on site, I use the speedtest app on my iphone.

But you wanted something a customer can do easily.

Anyone, maybe @JaredBusch have an online MOS score utility that they like and is easy to have a customer run? Pingtest.net was great for that, but went away a long time ago.

This produces one, seems pretty thorough.

        https://sourceforge.net/speedtest/

I would like to find something like this, self contained in a web app that I can drop on a PBX server to test from remote sites to my specific PBX instance.

Seems to work well enough, I'll stick with it, then.

            Oh yeah, it works decent.

Just after I know I have a generally good line at a client, I also want to see the connection from the site to where ever the PBX is hosted.

I like https://www.dslreports.com/speedtest, but mostly just because I trust souceforge about as much as Lenovo.

Scott I came across one a while back, but I can't remember the name. If I can I will find and post.

What's the difference between that and speedtest.net? pingtest.net links to it and the software looks the same.

@jackcpickup Pingtest looks specifically at the quality of your ping to a destination. Speedtest shows throughput between two points.

You could use pingtest to see a "quality" of your line speed. Makes a difference if your bouncing all around for unnecessary hops to get to location.

Used to be a totally different tool (from the same vendor) that specifically did line quality testing including providing a MOS score.

                          "Used to" is the key.

The app has the same results as pingtest used to, but it is not an online tool as requested.

Oh, there is an app? I was not aware (other than on the phone.)
