We had snow up here in Rochester just 3 weeks ago IIRC. That is a big WTF moment.

Wondering why the GPO settings for Windows Firewall show that you can use the cidr notation syntax to specify an entire subnet, but 10131 errors on the client complain and show you that you can't. WTF?

Just got off the phone with a client complaining about the sun glare in the afternoon on his terminal that he put outside..
I suggested an umbrella. He was not impressed.. any body know of any cut to fit screen shades? -

@wrcombs I guess he forgot to look at where the sun was before installing this outdoor terminal?

Look on amazon, they sell many different screen protectors, something might work.
The bigger issue I suspect will be the lack of brightness from the display.

Being the manager of a restaurant is hard, Ill give him that,
but He is one of those " I found this on ebay and google but not for my terminal so i know they are out there"
But the POS vendor we use doesnt supply those for the terminals because they should be inside... -

I would hope he has the ability to move the terminal so when it does rain. I'm not sure, I think it might even be under an Outside extension, the terminal faces to the west, so afternoons suck for the wait staff
Our fix?
Move the terminal to face away from the sun, or build a bout around it to keep it shaded so you can see. -

LOL - yeah probably, because he just lost 10 tables to seat.
Really, those terminals are often weird sizes, it's likely that no polarizer exists for them.. and if they do, they will cost a fortune because of their size.. which means taping on an oversized one that will look like shit - if it will work at all - because if the screens are touch screens, it's like you can't put this over them without causing issues.

@WrCombs resell him a big roll of expensive-ass 3M anti-glare stuff, marked up to reflect the level of PITA he is.
