And A Wrinkle in Time, same thing. Like six books, they never do more then one. Just a teaser and then they drop it.

We finished the Shannara Chronicles season 2 last night. It wasn't bad, I enjoyed it. But it was not the first season at all. Quite a let down, I felt. I can see why they lost 75% of their viewership. And only ten episodes isn't much to work with. They could easily have come back, but it got cancelled so it's all done now regardless.
UNless they plan for all the books from the beginning it always seems to happen like this.
Yeah, I hate series like this for exactly that reason. You get into it and get stuck halfway through the stories. That LotR and Harry Potter movies did all of the books is amazing. So many times they have tried the Chronicles of Narnia to only get stopped halfway through the series at best. It's so annoying.
LotR is not amazing, it was an all or nothing deal from the beginning.
Harry Potter, should have never been made as a movie per book. It should have been 2 per book, but studios will never take those kinds of risks.
Narnia is too complicated to be a movie, or even a series of movies, IMO.

Maybe the Last Battle is, but at the very lease, The Silver Chair could be an awesome movie.

Watched the new Jumanji movie last time. It's not quite the original, didn't have nearly the same feel. But it was a funny and enjoyable movie. The main stars of the series did a fantastic job.

My 7 year old, like the new Jumanji better than the original.

It wasn't bad by any stretch. It was an enjoyable movie. Although I found myself wanting more of the kids story then the actual game itself. I know it was only a vehicle to get the the game but it was easily the most interesting part of the movie.

They did a good job giving each actor a good amount of screen time. I was expecting Dwayne and Kevin to hog up the camera.

Yep, Jack Black really stole the show. He was easily the best character and actor combo in the entire movie. Karen Gillian also did a phenomenal job although my wife couldn't stop thinking about her in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Only the best companion. But yeah my wife couldn't believe someone who basically got their start on Doctor Who is now a fairly famous actress.

You think she's typecasted as Amy Pond? I thought she has done well being Nebula. I haven't seen Jumanji yet so can't judge that one.
