That trailer does not instill confidence that the crew making the new game understand at all what made the original so good.

I still have my original manual (with Rise of Rome on the reverse) and tech tree fold out.
Unfortunately, I don't have the box or the original discs any more as I got a AoE, AoE RR, AoE II & AoE The Conquerors in a bargain bin disc set and I forget what I did with the originals... probably threw them out

Someday, I'll get around to my ultimate gaming project: Download EQEmu and see if I can get my own server functioning -- just to see if I can do it.

I picked up FFXIV and they locked the server my friends play on. I can't even pay the $18 to transfer from another server. Severely limits the playerbase considering most people are going to want to play with their friends and expecting 20+ people to transfer servers is ridiculous in my opinion. That should not be required to play a game with people you know.

That's one thing that WoW started fixing a couple of expansions ago. Something I am glad they have done.

I'd really like to know what Blizzard had to do to make all the cross server improvements they did. It seems like an interesting story of what all was involved.

Seriously, y'all are welcome to join Ark on my server. By the standards of cost that have been set by FFXIFCWTFXM, it's cheap.
