@scottalanmiller said in Install NextCloud 11 on Fedora 25 with SaltStack:

This is a SaltStack state file (hence "with SaltStack" in the title.) So you would need to install SaltStack to do this. If you use the SaltStack tag here on the community, there are guides to installing a Salt Master and a Salt Minion (the minion is the server on which you would install NextCloud, for example.) I'm turning out guides regularly which basically completely manage your servers, so this can be worthwhile as building servers becomes pretty much zero work this way.

The Master/Minion part is simple, that I figured out.
Getting the NextCloud install is where I got lost.

btw, (sorry for the thread jack) anyone using Fedora Workstation?

Okie dokie, so no relationship to the thread then. Forked this to its own question.

Man, there is no shortage of names/forks in the *nix universe!!

What's the benefit of Korora 25 over Fedora 25?

Cinnamon integration, a lot more packages integrated. It's like Mint but with a Fedora base instead of Ubuntu.

I'm gonna have to install Fedora again, its been a while since I've used it. I liked it, but at the time I was looking for something different.

No, nothing will install there except for Ubuntu 😞

You mean widespread availability of apps or you prefer to use Ubuntu as your daily o/s?

The sad face means @scottalanmiller would rather use something else, but is stuck with Ubuntu.

Neither, it is the only one that would install.

Yeah, Ubuntu is near the bottom of the list of mainstream distros that I would want to use. I'd prefer Korora, Fedora, Mint or openSuse for sure.
