Several of us in the community are currently evaluating the latest released of osTicket, which is 1.10. osTicket is the leading open source ticketing system and is what is used under the hood by a lot of other products, including Comodo. It's open, free, customizable, runs on PHP 5.4 or later and uses MySQL or MariaDB as the back end database. We are just getting used to it here but figured it would be useful to have a central place to post feedback, ideas, screenshots, questions, etc.

One thing that is easy is that there is a really obvious "end user" interface to osTicket and a hidden agent interface. As an agent, you can log in to either.

        https://yourserver/ for end users
        https://yourserver/scp/ for agents

If an agent is also an admin, an Admin Panel option will pop up too to get to the settings. Very easy to use once you know about the /scp/ link.

You get a simple dashboard that shows overall ticket status. This is kinda neat. Would not use it often, but it is nice that it is there.

There are a number of per user settings for agents.

That's a big one for me. Gotta keep an eye on tickets whilst mobile.

I really like how easy it is to make Organizations and Users. We have really good control over who can submit tickets, log in to the web interface, and how they are grouped. It's simple, but easy. We are used to SW where that was possible but a huge pain and any mistake caused things to break.

That's just a screen shot of my system here in the reviews. The guide has full install instructions.

Yeah, natively designed for multiple clients or departments. It's very good for that.
