Windows 10 unClean Shutdown
-
I have a Dell that is I don't know how many years old... running fine. And a EEE-PC that is still running as well. I'm considering dropping a 120SSD in it to move to linux as it was / is WinXP.

This one didn't make two years,.. and it's hardly traveled... so no harsh bumping. So I will start looking.. Lenovo? Surface? Did you seriously just mention Lenovo and still have a job with NTG? *edit
OK now I see with the surface mentioned also, you must be kidding.

@gjacobse said in Windows 10 unClean Shutdown: First Consideration: I will never own another Zenbook unless it's given to me. My wife had one, 1 year and a few days - it started just not powering on. Unscrew the bottom, pull the the battery, replace it, it would work.. eventually that stopped working. Nope.. I'm done with them. Granted - it was probably a gen 1 problem.. but I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Sadly booting the system on another similar laptop didn't resolve the clean shutdown. And when I try to boot on a different computer, I get a Partition Table error. So mounted as Read Only and am in the process of moving the user profile(s) to an external drive. sudo mount -o remount,ro /dev/sdb1 /media/username/UbuntuIs what I had to use.
