Just smile and nod. Everyone else seems to.

Seriously though - do you video call just to video call?
I've made video calls to friends in the UK, but other than just messing around I've never used locally just for day to day conversations. I don't see the appeal I guess.
-
@Dashrender I don't like people seeing me when I talk on the phone... then I actually have to be engaged in the conversation.

ROFLOL - I was thinking the exact same thing, I just didn't type it.
yeah I want to be on a call and have the ability to surf if I want without someone seeing me not looking at them.

We like to video call when either of us isn't home for the night. Especially good to say hi to mini-nadnerB and miss mini-nadnerB (who tries to lick the phone). It's nice to see everyone.

I talk to my sibilings and my nephew this way all the time. As a team we do Skype Video calls often as well (remember we live all over the world so gives us a sense of togetherness).

i use a windows phone. lumia 635, windows 10 upgraded from 8 last year. I like it because i can only text, call and get email. There are no other apps for anything else, so I dont spend 95% of my time staring at a phone screen while walking down the street or eating or sleeping.

You can only? LOL, the phone can still do a lot more than that - even if that lot more is just surfing the web. There are a lot of games, and FB and snapchat, etc.

Yeah, if you're not in the same city it definitely makes more sense to use - so I can understand Nader's comment about when they are not both home at night. I was reading more into it - you're at work, the wife calls, but instead of calling via normal voice, she calls with video chat - that just seems weird. I consider that more intrusive than @scottalanmiller just getting a phone call.

I really can't believe they just killed it off like that.

They just announced that they're killing support for an old version of the OS that 2.5 years old. This is equivalent to Google killing support for KitKat or Apple dropping support for iOS 7.

Do you know they haven't?
Actually support or no support from Google for KitKat is pretty pointless since the carriers sure the hell aren't porting those updates out to devices.
Is Apple still releasing updates to iOS 7 instead of telling users, you want updates, you must upgrade, which BTW is free.

@Dashrender
Well, I suppose there are some other apps, but I have no facebook. There are some of the old FF games available so maybe I get those, but there isn't even a banking app from anybody except Wells Fargo(at least not earlier this year when I checked), and due to recent revelations ill never do business with them.
Really cant complain, I paid 50 bucks for the phone and my service is only 30/month for unlimited text and talk with 2GB.
