Only thing it's missing is touch.

      Touch what?

doh! You're post jumped in there before, and some how I quoted you instead of Scott.

              I mean to say.

and yes I was asking about a touch screen.

It seems to have a touch pad.

Oh, I don't want that. Makes things fragile and dirty. I get the value, I just don't want one as my computer. Dominica has a touch screen, we don't like it.

and clearly others agree with you - the Mac Book still doesn't have touch, nor do most, or all Chromebooks.

Personally, when it's there, it's pretty nice.

It depends on the device for me. A small-ish laptop, I'd expect (and dare say desire) touchscreen on it. But 15" and bigger screens, I don't see it as desirable for me.

I think the big thing is convertible versus non-convertible. Our touchscreen flips into a tablet, so touch screen makes sense (we just never do that.) Our laptops do not, so touchscreen seems silly. I've never wanted to touch my monitor when using my laptop.

In a smallish laptop a touchscreen can remove the requirement for an external mouse for most non gaming uses. It is a convenience, but a very nice one in that scenario imo.

Maybe for REALLY casual users. But touchpad seems way better than touch screen for that and even with my 13" laptop the touchpad isn't enough even.

I'll agree that a touch pad sucks when you're trying to do real work - a mouse is a must (for GUI interface), but casual on the couch, combo touchscreen/touchpad is fine or better than fine.

I find my self always wanting a mouse on any device I use.

Using a touchscreen for anything other than a game is just a nuisance as my hand is hiding the screen.

I definitely want a mouse anytime I am doing anything. But I can normally make due with a touch pad. Touch screen, I never find that usable unless I'm only watching YouTube or something REALLY trivial and when I do that, I use the Steam Controller instead.

I have touch on my Lenovo ThinkPad T550 and I don't really use it. I would use it more but it has regular hinges so the KB and trackpad are always available.

Touch is gross IMHO. I don't understand why you would spend money on a High Def screen... then fingerprint the hell out of it trying to use it.
