Solus 1.1 Linux on Scale HC3
-
Solus is a new Linux distribution that includes a fresh, new desktop environment called Budgie. While Budgie is available on some other distributions this is its native platform (much like Cinnamon on Linux Mint.) Finally a chance to check it out for myself.
As you can see the installer still leaves a bit too much to the end user and is easy for an experience Linux user but would be a little daunting to a newbie looking to use this as an easy to use end user desktop. If this is being used in a company and being installed for staff, this would not be an issue, of course.

Wow, that is so awesome!
-
Wow... that is very minimal and extremely sharp.
-
I wonder how this will stackup for people's preference compared to, say, Mint with Cinnamon.

So far, I would say quite well. This is very slick as a desktop goes.

In the first 30 seconds, I'm impressed so far. Just started it in a VirtualBox vm and it was booted and ready to go before I looked back.

I bet this on a Pi is awesome.
-
I don't believe that an ARM port has been made, yet.
-
They will catch up definitely! ARM is getting a very good kick now. Raspberry Pi is somehow underpowered by current "modern" means but Banana Pi solves most of the business cases AFAIK. That's NOT thin client if you care.

If only someone would make a board in the style of the RP but with the Tegra X1 or even K1, so much potential.
