Universal Dock - PC\Mac
-
Looking for a Universal Dock supporting both Windows and Mac.
Suggestions? I am not finding much. Seems like it should be easy to do with USB 3.0.....

What kind of things do you want the dock to do? You can use USB 3 with both and just have a USB hub that you attach to. What else would a USB Dock do that is universal?

"Mac" and "universal" are not terms that go together.

- At least 2 more USB 3.0 ports
- Supports 2 or more monitors (Hopefully HDMI)
- Ethernet
- Audio

I guess that makes sense. You could replicate this functionality, I assume, by buying individual components for each of these to hook into a USB port. That way you get just want you need for each function. Not as "clean" but more flexible.

Decent resolution is going to be your biggest issue on the monitor side running eveything through USB 3.0.

You mean those Display Link Docks? They all suck.. and Display link has even more known issues on mac os.

I had good luck with the Plugable UD-3900 at my last position, we had several of them in production and the users seemed to really like them. Not sure if they will work with a Mac though we were using Microsoft Surfaces with Windows 8.1 and 10.

Have a client that tried one for his Mac Mini's, didn't work.

https://eshop.macsales.com/shop/Thunderbolt/Dock/OWC/Thunderbolt2-Dock/ - I don't know how "universal" it is, you'd need thunderbolt in PC
