The common quoted phrase is "1/3 the population of the US in a land area the size of California."
That is not exactly right, but makes it easy to see on a map of the US.

So Ballmer is now getting an effective payoff for having been so crappy for so long by Nadella simply not being Ballmer and the stock inflating based on Ballmer leaving. That hardly seems like a good compensation scheme.

@Dashrender that doesn't do much. People work their local daylight regardless of the time. There is no good answer. The new world is simply one where sleep must be enforced.

@Reid-Cooper probably not but it might be interesting. I use phpMyAdmin so rarely. I tend to work from the MySQL CLI client nearly all of the time.

I've been in Linux Administration since the late 1990s and I've never seen a shop that compiled their own kernel. That would seriously be an odd and not business-oriented Linux admin task. Only the most special of cases would someone do that. I can't fathom any enterprise shop allowing something like that. Totally goes against all best practices and normal management techniques.
