XPS 15 is pretty sweet.

Just wondering if others purchase warranties or not? While many of us could fix normal issues, I always tell normal users to purchase it but I normally limit myself to basic just because I don't want to have to deal with finding parts if they are needed.

yep, the xps15 is gorgeous. I like my macbook for it's aesthetic appeal as much as anything else, it's sleek, the lid still aligns perfectly, the keyboard is still clear and functional and i've never come across a trackpad that is any better and then there's the display.

battery life is pretty good, sound is great AND I LOVE TELLING MAC PEOPLE I'M RUNNING WINDOWS ON IT.

Many lifetimes ago I was an electronics tech and we used to fix etching problems on circuit boards. We had those illuminated magnifying lamps, they made life a lot easier.

Sometimes when the engineers had to fault find new designs for products, they'd find that tracks that ran close close together couldn't be etched that close together with the tech they had at the time, so we had to grab a scalpel and sit at the lamp and scratch away to join between the tracks. That was pre smd days.

Seems like another person to me did that now.

They match to the extent allowed by the city. You can complain, but the city will shut you down as it is the city, not us, that limit how quickly we can update it.

I run up a simple machine, reset root password. logout & log back in using the new password, so i've confirmed the password is ok.

install lubuntu desktop coz I want a gui.

What @scottalanmiller said. Hit Ctrl+Alt+F(1-8) to get a command prompt and try logging in there.

Thanks @travisdh1 i'll try to remember that key combo.

i'm uploading the ubuntu desktop iso and i'll use that instead.

For MeshCentral, you can go on the "My Server" tab and click "Check Server Version" to know if you want/need to update.

With so much development, I just update ever two or three days.

yep, I get you.
I was looking at my isp last night, looking to cut some costs if possible.
$60/100GB, $62/500GB, $69 unlimited.
so most would choose unlimited.
I went through this exercise with everything last year, TV, ISP etc. Think I ended up saving $120/month just by not going unlimited.

Acer, oh, OK. What's the quality like? I work on lots of Acers but they are mostly the lower end Travelmates, they work, that's about it.
