      Youtube Video

      Good morning ML,

      So this is why I have been slightly more quiet over the past few days, I've been working on our helpdesk feature! Along with this announcement video, I just wanted to make mention of a few bugs that do come with this release that I'm actually working on fixing right now (and will be deployed in the morning).

      1. Notes:
        Notes contains a few bugs, reason being is this was not the main focus right off the bat as there is no external portal so this is only so useful so far.
      • Yes notes do work however I'm not happy with the entry process, right now entry occurs on an "enter" key stroke. I don't like this and it won't work for long docs etc so I'm going to be changing this.
      • container for the notes does not have an overflow property yet so the container breaks upon too many notes being entered /facepalm
      1. Last modified: doesn't reflect last modified obviously. Will be fixed in the morning release.

      2. You can sort by column (except ticket type which will likely not be fixed immediately in the morning but probably a release tomorrow at some point)

      Permissions:

      • Edit tickets will allow a member of an account group to ....edit tickets....
      • If a user does not have this permission, they will only be able to designate time worked on the ticket.
      • If a user is not the "admin" account (original account) without the New Tickets permission they will obviously not be able to create a ticket either.

      As per always, thanks for all of the insight on bugs and what changes you would like to see 🙂

      Running the latest Deepin Linux 15.4.1 for testing, Sodium installs fine with the apt-get installer and data collection works, but the applications get collected with a number rather than the name of the application. Screen shot here:

      @QuixoticJeremy

      Interesting, the agent must be returning in a slightly different format for deepin linux. I'll have to write a separate parser for that response. Thanks for the notice!

      That's kind of cheating.

      Drinking coffee, that was scalding hot, after the lid popped off and spilled on my hand.

      The coffee isn't that good either. . .

      I'm joining in on this coffee brigade of mediocrity. I'm spoiled normally as my company (other company that I work for) keeps a coffee bar full of awesome coffees. Well today the bar is out of everything but the most basic crap that is never touched because it's terrible AND almost everyone is at the company golf event today so no one knows where the coffee reserves are!!!!

      So then it's a work from beach day?

      I wish, working on some high priority stuff today (reason I'm not golfing myself) and I'm working in tandem with 2 other engineers on the module in question. No beach around here anyway worth going to haha.

      The kids were golfing over here yesterday.

      Nice! When Olivia becomes a golfing prodigy she can pay for my retirement :). I wish I was golfing right now.....

      1. Scott likes alcohol and is not afraid of it (this I already knew)
      2. People like posting pictures of cheerleaders in sports bras (this I already knew)

      Pretty fair summary. 10/10 tl:dr

      Teens from Burundi robotics team go missing in US

      Interesting article, points to the fact that they may have crossed into Canada potentially, I really hope that this is the case that they are missing by their own choice of action =/. Also I'm not going to lie, this action by trump threw me off:

      "The event aims to inspire young people to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and maths.

      However, it made the news earlier this month after a team of girls from Afghanistan were initially not allowed to attend the competition because of visa problems.

      But US President Donald Trump stepped in at the last minute and the girls were able to travel to the US and participate."

      Trump? Helped? Huh?

      Is there going to be a field for "Pet Name"?

      WindowsServer -> SamLooksDownOnMe
      CiscoRouter -> SamThinksImNoBetterThanAnOverPricedHooker
      CentOSServer -> SamUnderstandsMe

      This would actually be worthy of coding "pet names" for. hah

      You could autofill them.

      This could actually be a really fun concept. Randomly generated hilarious pet names that don't really mean anything more than a fun pet name? I could go for that. Perhaps once more of the main functionality is in place we'll put this in place. I'll have to talk to project management about it.

      @quixoticjeremy : Honestly though, a field for "Alias" would be excellent as sometimes you can more easily describe a particular PC by task, user, or looks than by the actual hostname.

      "The loud thing under Jeremy's desk"

      BTW, the hostname is "HPML110G7" for the computer in question...

      @manxam There is an assettag field already, and at one point I could have swore I did do a "alias" field as well but perhaps that was lost when I released the "new" dash. I'll look into getting that back on this latest dash.
