Ironically development has just started picking up a ton again in the past 2 weeks! We've been a little quiet due to multiple members of our development team having some crisis level turn of events in their lives, that being said we're full steam ahead at the moment and have actually just brought someone else on to aid on some of the smaller pieces! There actually will be post in the very near future about some renovations taking place in regards to the helpdesk, cough cough reporting cough cough. Etc.

Sodium release for helpdesk: related tickets, attachments, changed time management, etc.
Hi everybody! I'm back :).
Working on getting back into the swing of things after MangoCon and it has been one heck of a difficult time. Came back to fire everywhere at my other work so bare with me. I do have a release for you tonight that will likely be going up shortly. This new release covers quite a few topics:
-
Related tickets: you can essentially now create ticket trees/families. On tickets when you go to edit a ticket you will see a related tickets box at the bottom. You can add ticket numbers in here to create a related ticket link. You can add them individually or using comma's as delimiters.
-
Attachments! These do work. You can either select the paper clip on the notes screen or drag and drop into the enter bar. I have yet to create the load bar but it does work and you will see both a system entry of "An attachment has been created" and you can then access your attachment from the attachments tab.
-
Time management change: You now add time through the notes side of things. Here you can only add time if a note is accompanied with it! Very poor notification that this is necessary but it is! Keep that in mind! (I'm going to create a warning when I get around to it.
-
Crappy pagination! It's barebones, set up to handle 50 tickets to a page but it works. Rather boring and not flashy but gets the job done! lol
-
You can search via ticket Number: Eventually there will be a filtering system/search via description and summary text but for now you have ticket number.
Likely as per usual there will be bugs :D. Feel free to message me them as you experience them. I'm aware of a select few already that are on my list for tomorrow but I as always appreciate any input you guys have.
Thanks guys!

Sodium Update
So over here at Quixotic we've been working at a feverish pace to try to get the MVP of Sodium up and running. For those who don't know Sodium is a free RMM software with the goal of becoming so much more than that. We made a huge step forward tonight (this morning?) having our production server go live and confirming that the backend is (to this point) working as intended! The front end is working as well but we have some major plans in regards to redesigning it to better suit everyone's needs. While this is very early on in the development process I'm really pleased with how this weekend went and it's not close to over yet. We've done some testing including putting together an environment of about 8 machines without any issues and are at this pointing looking for others who would enjoy testing some EXTREMELY early stage software with the goal of giving us feedback and finding ways to help us make it suit what everyone is looking for. Obviously as was stated this is a very early stage and the interface is still very rough so keep that in mind.

Sodium Update! New Dashboard!
Hi everybody! I'm back! New news in the world of Sodium! We've released a new dashboard that is going to make your life (and ours) much easier! We've also locked down just about all of the login issues and sped things up quite a bit! It's been a massive undertaking today but things are looking good. Please check it out and let us know what you think!
For those of you that don't know us yet, Sodium our product is a FREE rmm software that is very new (only a few weeks into development, not even really a beta yet) with the goal of being much more than an rmm software. We're here to gain insight from the nice IT folk here and make a product that actually works for you guys!

Sodium App bug
Hi guys,
I worked through the night on this one and finally it looks like we have app listings working as intended again! Ironically there was nothing wrong with my code in the first place and it was a constraint issue -_- but whatever! I'll take it! Please take a look (make sure your machines are on or else there won't be any new update for you) and what not. Thanks everybody for all the testing, it really makes our lives much easier! Keep letting us know of any bugs you find.
Note: I do know that filesystems aren't fully pulling info at the moment and that is next on my list!

Sodium Bug: Excessive logout times.
Hi everybody, just wanted to let everyone know that I am aware of the INSANELY long logout times going on at the moment and actually the fix has already been coded (and it will help with the storage side of things as well). I'm just waiting on my IT department to push to production. I'm not able to get in touch with them at the moment but hopefully it will be soon. Until then please just hold tight!

Sodium-New feature-Helpdesk!
Good morning ML,
So this is why I have been slightly more quiet over the past few days, I've been working on our helpdesk feature! Along with this announcement video, I just wanted to make mention of a few bugs that do come with this release that I'm actually working on fixing right now (and will be deployed in the morning).
- Notes:
Notes contains a few bugs, reason being is this was not the main focus right off the bat as there is no external portal so this is only so useful so far.
- Yes notes do work however I'm not happy with the entry process, right now entry occurs on an "enter" key stroke. I don't like this and it won't work for long docs etc so I'm going to be changing this.
- container for the notes does not have an overflow property yet so the container breaks upon too many notes being entered /facepalm
-
Last modified: doesn't reflect last modified obviously. Will be fixed in the morning release.
-
You can sort by column (except ticket type which will likely not be fixed immediately in the morning but probably a release tomorrow at some point)
Permissions:
- Edit tickets will allow a member of an account group to ....edit tickets....
- If a user does not have this permission, they will only be able to designate time worked on the ticket.
- If a user is not the "admin" account (original account) without the New Tickets permission they will obviously not be able to create a ticket either.
As per always, thanks for all of the insight on bugs and what changes you would like to see

RE: Sodium Update
@Dashrender @dbeato and @black3dynamite Thanks for all the input! 2 bugs were found and corrected.
-
@black3dynamite I'm going to go ahead and remove the massive amounts of companies that were created due to this issue so that you can start fresh.
-
the login issue where it was jumping away from the password entry input was a routing issue that has been fixed.
We're going to be rolling out a release here in a little bit to resolve these issues. I'll make a post as soon as the deployment has finished. Thanks again everybody.

The great thing about free speech is that it offers no protection from the consequences of saying whatever you want. You have the right to spout off any stupid thing you want, and the rest of us have the right to pelt you with rocks, bottles, and fists.
What's sad is all of this can be avoided by following one rule:

Just wanted to make an update post really quick with bug fixes that released this AM:
-Notes now enter via a entry button element, no longer via a keypress
-Notes also how handle overflow properly and will scroll upon more being entered
-last modified now reflects the last update time properly.-Haven't fixed the sort by column for ticket type yet.

Apparently the US, Japan, and China are about to start having robot battles against each other. We have a 16 foot behemoth called eagle prime, china has a 13 million dollar robot called The Monkey King, and Japan has Kuratas...... the world has officially turned into an anime:

Sweet, looks like Justin got to this thread before I could! Welcome to the test group and please let Justin or I know if you have any questions/ideas/features you want! We did recently have a thread on helpdesk concepts that we were drawing from. Let me see if I can find that thread for you.

RE: Sodium Update
Okay everyone, sorry I stepped away for a second to get some food really quickly. To answer some questions. Going to go through the list here:
@Dashrender No we aren't using wordpress in the slightest, front end is like stated previously just very rough at the moment.
@Dashrender, @dbeato, Looking into the disappearing password set here in a minute. We haven't seen that before so I'll let you guys know as soon as I figure out what is going on.

Even most one person businesses would want to reconsider making their person phone the business phone as well. Email, maybe, but phone, almost never. You don't want customers having the same access that your wife does.
I don't even want my wife having the access my wife has..... lol j/k

Sodium Support for Linux!
Alright everybody, this is a big one. We all know that Linux support is huge and we ARE still working on this but as @scottalanmiller found out we are actively working on this and he has seen some results with our work. Please note that this is still a big focus piece for us and we are still in the process of verifying that things are working but please feel free to try the linux launchers and give them a shot. If they don't work, don't be alarmed it's likely we're simply just ironing bugs still.
All that being said, have fun and go nuts!
