      Thank you everyone,

Things have been going well despite my jump.

My father moved away last year and it opened a big spot for me to work in the construction field.

So far this year I have made more in the first 6 months than my entire last year. I'm just ahead of my full time job.

Anyway. I like to help people out as much as possible. But I'm torn.

I have an offer for the unit right now. I'm trying to get in as much capital for my business. I have a lot of tax right offs right now.

I have enjoyed the past 10months and not thinking about computers.

    • Closing down, have some equipment for sale

I tried to find a better place for this, it seemed like the best place.

I had a really rough year, and decided to close down my IT services. I really became frusterated not getting paid for services that were provided and working around the clock.

I have an ibm x3950m2 no drives (trays included), dual PSU, 4 quad core Xeon 2.93ghz cpus.

6 screen monitor mount (desk style)

I used the server for an internal lab environment.

If someone could use them I would let them go. Just trying to get a little cash back from them.

    • RE: Thumbtack - what a ripoff

@BBigford said in Thumbtack - what a ripoff:

You're basically paying $3 every time you quote someone, to which you may never see a return.

If a client is sitting on 10 quotes, Thumbtack makes $30 on that quote.

There are times where I don't have to pay at all to communicate with a customer due to a lack of pros in their area.

Thumbtack can be an expense for sure. I have mixed feelings with them. They have brought me some really good clients and some that I don't want. I have brought in more than I have spent, there's no question about it.

I don't think many of the customers realize that the pro pays to communicate with them. I do find people are looking "shopping" and they are a waste of time. But there are others that are serious and have spent money with the pros.

We binge watch British sitcoms every year or two. Are You Being Served?, Coupling, Keeping Up Appearances.

My dad and I love to watch fawlty towers when we are out on jobs and have to stay overnight! We would watch an episode before bed.

As a long term solution... Brother printers.

Maybe I won't let my wife sell my brother "printer" in the garage sale after all.

I have an hp office jet pro x451. So far it's been amazing but I haven't burned through the factory cartridges just yet.

I was planning on buying after market refills, hoping I wouldn't have an issue.

Have a buddy buy it for you and hand ship it up.

border agent: That's a nice server you got there.... be a shame if you had to... pay taxes on it! muahahahaha

Nothing to claim, a buddy gave me this equipment from his personal lab.

boarder agent So let me get this straight a buddy gave this too you? Do you frequent Mangolassi.it much? We heard someone was trying to bring up a server under false pretenses. This couldn't be you aye? Muhahaha
