If anyone is curious about Huawei networking equipment, I have two different types of access points im testing tomorrow, the AD9430DN-24 switches and the AC6605-26-PWR Access Controller. I'll start a thread tomorrow.

I highly recommend not to because Huawei is compromised by the Chinese, just like Lenovo.

It says right on the page and the OP even said it. He knew right from the start who owned it. The goal was never to find that out.

They're not ashamed of it. I'm just wondering what all of the digging is all about. Are they trying to find some dirty laundry some where? Attempting to accuse of money laundering or something?

I'm liking Debian more and more as I use it. However the install process has a ridiculous number of screens.

You can choose a different install method and should see fewer screens. My guides are not for the advanced users though.

The less advanced users thank you profusely for that.

And here I thought that I was one of the few that doesn't know Linux that well. Looks like I am more of the majority than the minority.

    • RE: Windows 10 Reset password

Sorry, no pictures on this one as I don't have Windows 10 as a VM, but here's what I did to get into the problem computer:

      1. At the locked screen, in the bottom right corner, press and hold down the shift key and click "Restart". Don't let go of the shift key until you come to the "Choose an option" screen.
      2. Select the "Troubleshoot" option.
      3. Select the "Advanced options" option.
      4. Select "Command Prompt". You're computer will reboot and prompt for the bitlocker key (if it applies).
      5. Now you have your command prompt. We need to inject a user and make them an administrator.
5a) This line will create our user and set their password, locally only.
        net user <username> <password> /add
5b) This will add the user to the local administrators group
        net localgroup administrators <username> /add
5c) Now exit to return to the "Advanced options" screen and click "Power Off".
      6. Power your computer back on and try your new credentials.

This doesn't work all of the time. I tried to create a new user in this method on another computer and it didn't work, but did work on the computer that I was having problems with.

Just one month after all this happened, they are back at it again with hounding us about an account that they fabricated!

Its time to talk to council and get some recourse on this. I'd start pulling phone records, email, and conversations about every instance contact has been made. Present all of your evidence to your council and let them do their jobs.

That's going to have to be the next step. We were hoping that once their head of corporate counsel stepped in and gave assuances that it was over, in writing, that it might have done something. But I guess not.

You may be opening a can of worms about this and might not be the only victims of this sort of thing. I bet you your not, but you are probably one of the first to step forward.
