@scottalanmiller said in Can You Export List of Email Accounts from Office 365:

That's what I want... basically a list (preferably comma separated) of every email account (not alias) that we have in Office 365. Anyone know if that is possible, and if so, how do we find it? Probably some PowerShell command will do that.

It contains a lot of additional information, but you can export your list of users in a CSV by clicking the Export button on the Users page.

Unless you're wanting to use Powershell for a learning experience you might look at something like this: http://www.cjwdev.com/Software/ServiceCredMan/Info.html. If you still want to use the Powershell route this might be a good way to check the success of your script.

@kelly That's goood because The Last Jedi is an abomination.

One good thing came out of The Last Jedi: I no longer think The Force Awakens is the worst Star Wars movie.

To think we were forced to abandon the Star Wars EU for this trash...

Migrate FSMO to DC2, Demote DC1, Disjoin DC1 from domain, Shutdown DC1.

      Cleanup DC1 references.

Spin up new DC3 using IP of DC1.

DC2 already holds the FSMO roles. No need to migrate. I'm having a hard time understanding why it's crazy to want to keep the same IP address. Changing the IP address is more crazy to me. I feel it would be more disruptive to change the IP address. The server DC1 has been a DC for more than 20+ years. Finding the devices and equipment that are using the IP address is more work than keeping the IP address.

It is because of the amount of effort required to do it relative to the opportunities for issues is not a great trade off from a domain health perspective. It is going to be disruptive to your devices to re-ip. However, missing references in AD to the old device can play merry, almost undiagnosable, hell with your environment...potentially.

    • RE: Sales Person Wants Me to Provide Independent Rep With an Email Account

One solution would be to just give them an Exchange Online P1 license: https://products.office.com/en-us/exchange/compare-microsoft-exchange-online-plans. This would limit them to just email. That is the technical side of things. I'm with everyone else here, the requestor needs to provide a business justification and upline approval for this.

Guy had a router go bad, trying to by pass the router and go straight through to the sonic wall
having a hell of a time.

Sonicwalls are known for not handling auto/auto well on the port negotiation. I've had a terrible time getting an internet connection to work until both sides were set to 100/full. Not sure if that is affecting you, but it was a problem for me.

@Pete-S I want to open up a browser & type in the name of a computer on vlan10 & have the traffic flow through.
Right now, the traffic tries to go through the gateway on 1.1.1.1

If an address is placed outside of your subnet due to the mask, the traffic has to go to your default gateway. If you want a different gateway you would have to do default routes on your clients.

Looks like the MS series supports the DHCP relay setting: https://community.meraki.com/t5/Switching/need-to-configure-DHCP-IP-helper-address-on-VLAN-in-MS-switch/td-p/22806.

I can't use that relay setting since I still need dhcp on the 250.254 network

If you're using some automation you could push the resolution for specific targets to the hosts file on the end points.

    • Software Catalog

This might be out of scope for what you all have to deal with, but I'm trying to corral a software environment (municipality with ~2000 users). Have any of you used a software package (doesn't have to be free) to provide users with a catalog so that they can go to a central web page and put in a need and identify a supported and licensed (by IT) piece of software that could meet that? I know the ask on this is high, but I figured I'd toss it out here.

    • Tracking Tasks

Re: What are you using to track daily tasks?

So rather than necro-ing the above post I decided to spawn a fresh thread.

Now that I'm no longer in a technical role I am finding that I need something more than a ticketing system to track what I have going on.

Here is my incomplete list that I started to put together today in Excel just so I would have it somewhere (details removed):
Position change for staff member (x3)
      Pay increase for staff member
      SysAid Project Management
      Techshare
      AppLauncher Replacement
      Vmware Horizon
      DEP/MDM
      QPA
      Core34
      FCTV MacBook
Transition staff member to Full time
      Personnel issue
      Personnel Development (x6)
      Helpdesk Surveys
      Broadband SysAid
      Adobe Account Transition
      Software Management/Licensing

I'd like to be able to track progress on some of these and potentially link to documentation or email. I'm pretty early on in the process of sorting this out since tracking stuff in email has been sufficient up until now.

I've done this to myself before as a boss. I've started to ask a question because I'm curious, and tell someone to start doing some tasks to satisfy my curiosity. Then, as I realize that there is no value returned in what I'm asking I have to back track and take it all back.
