How could they delete the google apps account? Only the admin can If setup right
If they buy the domain from a registrar, they can change the backup administrator for the domain and get access that way, I think.
If that Happened it means the domain wasn't locked and he let it expire so that's his own fault. It's not really His google apps anymore truly. If he wanted to make his own google apps account on the domain he now owns he'd have to delete the old one first.

Nope. But we don't use E series. They don't come with height adjustable stands. We mostly use ultra Sharp series.
What is it about having to pay $200+ (and realistically more like $300+) for a monitor to have height adjustability?
Having a more sharp/clear monitor and to where users can adjust it causes less fatigue and makes employees more productive so they are well worth the extra money. They can easily pay for themselves in one day.

RE: Anybody tried OnlyOffice?
@Tati said:
@Jason the desktop editors are free for personal use - http://www.onlyoffice.com/blog/2016/03/onlyoffice-desktop-editors-for-your-pc-or-mac-are-out/ Moreover, if you need it to work with documents only, you can connect your personal ONLYOFFICE account - https://personal.onlyoffice.com that is also free of charge and allows to connect different account like OneDrive, ownCloud, Dropbox etc and work with all your documents in one place.
Very poorly done method on the site, obiously meant to confuse people into buying. This is one of those "stay far away from" companies that you can't trust anything they do then. I would never use a company like that for work or personal.

I'm really impressed at EdgeOS. I can't talk its praises enough. For $60 I can't see anything else comparing.
Ah, EdgeOS is nothing special. Ubquiti didn't to much work to it (because it didn't need much) VyOS/Vyatta is where all the magic came from.. Brocade tried Killing the Vyatta community edition though. So everything now is a fork from before Brocade bought them.
For $60 is the real point though. It was a great recommendation from @Dashrender and @JaredBusch
Yes, But what I'm saying is EdgeOS isn't really ubquiti's creation. You are just paying for Hardware really.

I specifically asked if the way we view it (provided it's legal) matters (I was very specific) and they said no. If it's DRM free content we can stream it to any device within the building.
I'm pretty sure the same goes for music.
It does you have to go to the Labels for them usually. Nice thing though with music is once you are licesned you don't have to buy music.. you can just download from the cheap per month services that let you download all the mp3/flac such as https://www.idjpool.com/

Anyone looked at using Slack in business for more than 50 users (we have about 120)? Looking at the product, I've wondered about AD integration but have found we might have to use a 3rd party tie in that's paid for (Bitium).
I did see though that there is an Enterprise version of Slack coming, not sure what it would cost or if it would even be viable. Anyone tried it?
Seems rather expensive for what it is..

Even with those models... they are clearly making enough money - because they are spending TONS making their own series.. so I'm not that worried about Netflix.
This whole thread makes me laugh, as I'm not worried about any of the entertainment industry's profitability. I'll continue to not follow all these rules and regulations mentioned above, thanks.
It's people's lively hoods at stake, when you avoid it the guy that was on set making $30,000/year or less hurts the most. Next time they won't pay him. There is actually not that much money in it for the people actually doing the work so any you steal from them hurts them a lot (and yes it is stealing).

So without a UTM device how are you monitoring the network and locking down the traffic?
- What is the actual need here? A firewall already monitors and locks down the traffic. Those are not UTM functions.
- With a UTM, how are you doing it?
I look at UTM's as a single device that can easily secure and monitor and a variety of network traffic with minimal effort. Running a regular ERX works but you lose the malware, mail filtering and IPS features of a UTM. Sure there are other methods of gaining those features back but not on a single box. For SMB that single box is a big sell.
If you use a Edge router how are you adding back in the other security features that a UTM or Nextgen firewall offers?
Why are you filtering mail at the firewall anyway?. Even with onsite mail cloud based email filter is way more powerful at detecting things.

I suppose if you really need UTM things at remote locations, then the UTM appliance is the most cost effective way to do this. But the real question is... do you REALLY need it?
Not at every site. What I'm going to do is install a Squid proxy at one specific location because we have two client computer labs there. It's extremely vulnerable with the developmentally disabled clicking on anything and everything--not that I would expect anything but that in this situation. So I basically block everything except YouTube and a few educational websites that they use daily. I do this only for their computers and have standard content policies in place for the others.
I'm getting rid of my Sonicwalls in favor of Ubiquiti Security Gateways but I lose content filtering basically.
yep - I was in the same boat 4 months ago. Though - just wondering, why the USGs vs the ERLs?
I'm open to recommendations of course. Do you think the ERL is a better choice?
I haven't actually played with a USG yet. They are 20-40 more than an ERL... as far as I can tell... the main difference is the ability to controll the USG with the Ubiquiti Controller software, you can't do that with the EdgeRouter stuff
It's suppose to have PBX functionalities at some point too.

We tested the EliteBooks.. Didn't like them that well.
I personally owned a HP Pro x2 612 G1. It was interesting but it had a lot of issues.
What didn't you like about the Elitebooks (did you test these new low power ones, or just the "standard" form factor Elitebooks that have been around a while)? We've had some of the Elitebook 2560s, etc. Just standard laptops with good specs. I don't care for the driver support when it comes to WDS, but any laptop seems to be tricky since drivers are so particular with laptops.
Have you tried the M series processors yet? If so, how'd they do for you?
We have some of the Skylake CPUs I believe but not in the HPs we tested. They were fine. We don't worry about them that much..
Elitebooks we tried where a mixture of standard and ultrabooks. The quality wasn't there for us they would not hold up in our environment. The Docks for them are slated to be discounited in favor of USB 3.0 only so that was a major factor too.

RE: Starting a Shared Web Hosting Company
Just don't. You can't beat prices and make any money you need large scale setups/data centers to make money with it. And offering multiple things in that DC to make it more cost efffective.

@nadnerB for your kind information we have license but he is not telling to me he is telling to find from the server installed and to give
Sounds like his is covering up for not properly licensed systems.
Or poor documentation and he doesn't have the key on him, thus the quest to dig up key from other system.
If you don't have the documentation then you don't own the license. You either have a volume license which you can get online, or you have the retail in which case you need the paper copy in order to use. And the key for each install is unique and limited to a very small amount of activations.
It could also be an OEM copy on the other server if you have no documentation (in which case a sticker would be on the server) and in no way are you allowed to use this on any server besides the one it's on.

Well, how else do you interpret the findings of the thread? All these IT pros and no one is actually completely sure what is or isn't legal even for very basic licensing.
Microsoft won't admit or deny anything in a lot of cases we ask our Microsoft Rep stuff.. He sends us links to the vagauge terms microsoft always uses. We ask for clarification on something, and get told it's up for interpretation.

Backbone always blames LEC (and vice versa)
So at most of our locations the backbone doesn't come straight to our building (aside from the data centers) and is handed off through a LEC. It seems with all of them they always blame the issues on each other rather than work together to fix it. Do you guys run into this a lot?

pfSense is BSD. VyOS is normally what's recommended if you want to do routing on pc hardware. I'm still getting to know how to work it myself.
VyOS is great if you know Cisco IOS commands, sounds like they would rather manage things with a GUI though.

RE: Create SQL History Database
What script are you running to take the backup? A backup doesn't require a restore. Did you modify the backup so it's not touching the original when restored? Sounds like it might be still referencing the original DB
Also if this is just histrocial backups why does it actively need to be in SQL as a DB? That's just using more memory even if the DB isn't used.
