I haven't called them yet. There is no method in their portal. I'll give them a call and report back.

I need to get a specific toll free number. I've determined it is available.
Do any of you know of a place where I can register it, and then forward it to my regular number. The sites I have found so far appear to be charging an annual fee and calling plan fees, as if they were themselves a full service provider. I understand why this is; but I am looking for providers you may use that are better than others.

I think the point here is that @JasGot can afford to take us ALL on vacation, first class of course. Where are we going?
How about dinner and drinks in Key West? I would be willing to do that.

As for flying FC - like 3 times in my life, never paid for it myself, not worth it.
I enjoy the bigger seat, I enjoy the lie flat bed (Delta One), I appreciate the food choices, and I certainly like the extra personal attention. We haven't flown in anything but FC since November of '94. The price is not an issue; my happiness is. For these reasons it is worth it to me. I will admit, however, if price were an issue, I would probably not be in FC.
@Pete-S
I have. Not much there to help with my questions.

Remember the DC-9 Super 80!
I do! One of the reasons I am so loyal to Delta, is because I was loyal to Northwest, because I was loyal to Republic. A groomsman's (in my wedding) father was a DC-9 pilot for all 3. He had a sweet route, nightly round trips from Detroit to Dulles.
@scottalanmiller said in American Airlines:
Delta is by no small margin the worst airline I've every flown, anywhere in the world.
I'm sorry to hear.
We have always had great experiences with Delta. Domestic and International.
I'll say this though, when Northwest always used KLM for Europe, we LOVED KLM. Haven't flown KLM in years.
We started flying with Republic, who was bought by NorthWest, who was bought by Delta.
@scottalanmiller said in American Airlines:
Oh man, those were good.
And FAST! We've had MANY trans-atlantic flights where the sustained speed was over 600mph. Nothing more exciting than arriving at FRA on a non-stop over an hour ahead of schedule! Ah, the sweetness of more than 150,000 lbs of thrust!
One of these fast flights was quite interesting, we boarded at Detroit Metro and proceeded to the tarmac where the cabin door was re-opened and one of those stairs on a truck pulled up. The captain said we were "waiting for a special delivery", then the University of Michigan Survival Flight helicopter landed right next to us, a small box was run up the stairs and placed in the coat closet in first class. The helicopter left, the truck pulled away, and the airport was cleared so we could leave next. My wife an I watched in amazement as we quickly made it to and stayed at 612 mph for over six hours. When we landed at FRA, we stopped right on the runway where another truck with stairs pulled up, another helicopter landed, and the box was taken away by Alpine Air Ambulance. It was so cool to experience that part of the organ donor process. We never did hear what the organ was or who it was for, but it had to be special!

I actually like AirBus
I do too. It's been my equipment of choice since the MD DC-10 was retired.
@scottalanmiller said in American Airlines:
I consistently like AA better than Delta
Can you explain why? Also, do you fly FC when on larger airlines?
@JaredBusch said in American Airlines:
All U.S. carriers suck unless you pay for better seating. There is no real difference.
I can only imagine.
@JaredBusch said in American Airlines:
From everything I have seen between Delta and AA, I would go with Delta having a better FC experience
Have you read or heard bad things about AA FC? That's the kind of input I am looking for.
Anyone fly AA in FC? I am contemplating using AA on my next flight, but have never flown with them before. The equipment is an A319 and I am interested in your opinion on comfort (seats, noise, etc), food, and in flight services. If you can compare to Delta (A320), that would be most helpful.
Thanks.

Just found this thread. I love AquaMail. Been using it for years. It's worthy of mention!
@JaredBusch said in Fiber to Ethernet Media Converter, What's your preference?:
that is not hat you just stated. Which was, that you don't need a switch, and a simple media converter will do.
How the fuck would a media converter help you now, if you need a switch and VLANs?
My god, it is so hard to like you or appreciate you; you can be helpful one minute and an asshat the next.
This is how the fuck it will help me now:
@JasGot said in Fiber to Ethernet Media Converter, What's your preference?:
Someday I may need a fiber switch with vLANs, but for now a couple of media converters make the most sense.
Why would I spend $2k now when $200 will do the job for at least several years? And don't tell me a couple of switches are not that much more than media converters. The switches I WILL install are currently about $1k each. Unless you know what the customer demands are, what the customer budget constraints are, what my plans are, what the possible future objectives are, what the building layout is, and what the fiber install looks like, don't presume to know anything that would entice you to make that silly and asinine statement.
You're just out in left field on this one. You'd have been better off yelling at a tree.
@JaredBusch Why not? I need to isolate an 8 port switch into 4 two port switches. It seems to me that VLANS are the perfect solution to that problem. I couldn't do that if I used a fiber switch without vlan capabilities.
Thanks, this has been very helpful. I need to relocate a 1GBe ethernet connection, about 900 ft. Someday I may need a fiber switch with vLANs, but for now a couple of media converters make the most sense. I've used Allied-Telesis and Transition Networks in the past, have only looked at Startech, and am happy to see the other options here.
Thanks again!
Do you have a brand an model you prefer?
Thanks.

Not an answer but a vaguely described possible point in direction...
On ML, someone here posted (Sometime in the last year I believe) about having to allow a process through the Windows Firewall for SQL and that sped everything up. I believe it was "Transaction Coordinator" or something like that.
netsh advfirewall firewall set rule name="Distributed Transaction Coordinator (TCP-Out)" new enable=yes profile="domain"
