actually, I read that you just have to Alt F4 the window requesting a MS logon, and it will press on.

Also, with the current Home versions, if you wait until after the username setup to attached to WiFi or plug into ethernet, it lets you create a local account.

The fact that you're required to have a Microsoft account for the new OS is disturbing.

      Only for non-pro version.

    • External Touch Screen for Surface

@Ambarishrh just posted another question that got me thinking about how external displays are handled as far as GPU efforts.

I have a client that wants to add a 27" Touch screen to his Surface. I told him it may not have enough processing power to handle that size display.

Are HDMI and DP similar to VGA in that they require more horse power for higher resolution?

Also, would a surface docking station offload any resource requirements of a larger monitor?

      Thanks.

      Wow.
I don't know how to compare per-endpoint to "self hosted per-technician pricing", this is really expensive. We pay SC about $800/year. This is over 20k/year

An HP laptop and a Dell Display, but no Surface? 🙂 I guess the Software Marketing Group forgot MS makes hardware too!

Info like this is what I was looking for. Max Ram is sad, though.

    • What up front info do you ask for with new VoIp service

Does anyone have a short list of things already typed up that you ask your clients to provide at the beginning of a VoIP Rollout? I don't want to miss anything, but here is what I have. Please add as you see fit.

Number of people needing their own extension #
Number of required telephone devices (Desk phone, Wall phone, Conf Rm phone, ATA for Fax, Headsets, etc)
      Auto Attendant wanted?
Directory Tree layout when in auto attendant
Auto Attendant Scripts, actual MP3s if handy.
      Groups for rining
      Groups for Paging
After Hours automatic change over schedule (to Auto Attendant or third party service)
Usernames, E-Mail addresses, and existing (if re-using) or desired extensions.
      Voicemail for every user?
      Voicemail Transcription services?
List of phone numbers in use (Rollover/HuntGroup)
List of phone numbers published to the world
List of phone numbers to be kept (ported) (many can be dropped when going to VoIP)
Existing Carrier and most recent phone bill
List of toll free numbers and carrier
Will Toll Free Numbers be ported or will the carrier change the destination?
      Are Softphones needed?

      Anything else?
      Thanks.

Well. It turned into a big project.

Ended up replacing old Unifi APs, adding additional APs, adding 4 Sonos Fives, 2 Sonos Ones, 2 Sonos One SLs, 4 Sonos Moves, and 2 Sonos ARCs.

Then, because of the new APs, spent at least 4 hours battling a WiFi connected Tuxedo Touch, ended up pulling Ethernet to it.

Integrated Alexa to the Sonos System just so I could ask the speakers to turn the outdoor Edison Lights on and off! 🙂

And then added my Plex server, SiriusXM, and Spotify to Sonos.

      We be Jammin' now!

No Need for a bunch of Nested IF= statements.

VLOOKUP is made for this. Although XLOOKUP is the new VLookup.

Here's the formula in Column I of my screen shot. Don't worry about the $, they just mean the formula should not auto advance when you copy and paste to other cells.

      =VLOOKUP(H4,$C$21:$D$25,2,FALSE)
The "False" means EXACT Match, please leave it as False.

    • Sharepoint

Is there a way to put a folder link into someones One Drive on their Desktop app from the admin console?

Currently, the only way I can find to get a linked Sharepoint folder into a One Drive account is to log into both One Drive and Sharepoint Online from that user's PC and click the link to "Add shortcut to OneDrive"

There must be a way to have it auto populate to all the users' desktop app.....

    • RE: Taking suggestions about x86 Access replacement

@mr-jones said in Taking suggestions about x86 Access replacement:

      accde

If this is an accde file, it has to be compiled for 64-bit.

You can mix bits if using different versions of the apps. Example, you can have 64 bit Office 2019 installed, (with or without Access). And then install 32bit Access 2016 and it will all work. I know you are not looking for that, but it will work.

Do you have access to the pre-compiled version of your access file?
