    • Sharepoint Pros?

I've got a client who is in the construction business. They are growing quick, have zero IT backbone, and dont want to jump into a construction management software package until we do some trials, testing, etc. In the mean time I thought they could benefit from Sharepoint for document management. Currently they are using dropbox......

I'm migrating them to O365 today, and their plan includes sharepoint. I've never really used it before, anybody want to school me on the basics?

OK back at it. I have the Microsoft Remote Desktop app on ipad. Pertino VPN is setup. I can add the server via IP address, remote into it just fine. I can also add the Remote Resource Feed where it will populate the 3 apps that i've "published" from the server. it will not allow me to launch the apps. I get a "we couldn't connect to the remote PC. make sure it's on, etc.

    • RE: RD App accessible from the internet

there is a Remote Desktop app for iOS. I have published the app in RDS. Within the app there is a spot for my app web feed url, currently this in LAN based, not web facing. Pertino works a bit differently with iOS than it does in windows, the settings that work on a windows desktop (or a mac for that matter) do not work on the iPad.

    • RD App accessible from the internet

      Server 08r2, RDS

How would you guys go about getting a published app I'm currently getting folks to via Pertino available on the internet? Pertino's iOS plugin doesn't allow it to work the same as a windows desktop. Tried working with pertino on this and they said currently not possible.

    • RE: Virtualization Redemption?

OK, sorry i posted and vanished. My current single caveat to doing anything right now is storage space. I know SQL and AD will replicate without issue. I also know that they say that their applications data will do the same using robocopy nightly. Would it be stupid for me to overcome the current storage shortage of running all 4 vms on 1 host by switching from raid 10 to raid 6 on the DR server?

Datacenter is connected over vpls and we have a 30x30 pipe between us and DC.

I like the idea of xen just because of all of the built in goodies that aren't included with ESXi, like HA.

I think I have two slots on each server that I could put drives in to expand storage even more. alteast on the DR server.

    • Virtualization Redemption?

I've made a bit of a mess.....Hoping you guys can help me out.

Clent wanted their EMR vendor to spec out their server builds and it's backed me into a tight spot as they misled us to their DR capability. ESXI free.... dumb i know Server 2008 R2

      Currently i have 3 identical r620's.
      2.18 TB (raid 10)
      64 GB of ram
      and 24 logical processors

They wanted Host 1 to contain DC and SQL and we've got 970 GB free on this host

Host 2 Contains ERX and SRS and has 1.2 tb free

Host 3 has a secondary dc and what was supposed to be their cache/emergency access server that would contain the previous days data in case of total failure at primary site.

Host 3 really has no true use after going through the install.

My ultimate goal is to move host 3 to a datacenter and i need to replicate SQL, SRS, and ERX to that server, i'll also have a tiny DC running on the host. Anyway, what would you guys do in this spot?

what's the word on this? i'm about to move a client to xen simply for the fact that esxi free doesn't offer any sort of replication/DR very simply.
