      re....really?

      That sounds pretty awesome!

In the time I have been on ML speaking with with @Minion-Queen @art_of_shred and @scottalanmiller (since about August 2014) and NTG for some help before I started with them in April,.. I've found that they are the best. And even more so since I started working with them.

They are great people and I enjoy my 'work days' more than I have in a while.

NTG and Staff are pretty awesome....

    • RE: remote control software/screen sharing

ScreenConnect or TeamViewer are both decent.

We have moved away from LogMeIn - and when they changed there model (years ago) I quit using or suggesting them for personal use.

Drove as far north west as you can in Nicaragua today until we got to the point that the car could not go any further. Turned around and ended up going down a long empty stretch of road to a dirt road that we could barely make it down and finding..... a gated private resort at the end of it! So we got a room and ate at the fancy restaurant on the water, had some drinks, took the resort shuttle to their private ocean beach which was the best I've ever found anywhere, watched the sun go down with the kids, then took the shuttle back and swam with the kids in the infinity pool with the moon rising over the bay. In the room in the resort now. Internet is not the best here, but at least I am mostly online.

With a setting like that,... turn the computer off and enjoy the time with the family. It'll all still be here later.

Company, at end, let me buy the Pfsense.

      I'm thinking in this model.

      https://store.pfsense.org/HIGH-AVAILABILITY-SG-4860-1U-pfSense-Systems-P47.aspx

      Any other best option ?

Answer is going to keep being the same, Ubiquiti is better than pfSense.

Can the Ubiquiti handle failover from one to another?

@iroal If the Ubiquiti has all the features you need, then the price will be significantly cheaper than the pfSense setup.

Yes - Even the ERL I have with 3 ports can. you can set two ISP and one LAN, One ISP, LAN and WiFi or one ISP and two LAN..

We actually have a client with two ISP and one LAN configured currently.

    • RE: Windows 8 Issue ???

Have you tried to boot from a LInux Live CD/USB? If not, you may wish to try this, mount the drive and see if the data is readable.

you may also be able to fix the MBR.

I have never used the snipping tool until just now. I have been using GreenShot.

You may try that as an alternative. But since SnipIt is part of the Windows OS, I am not sure as to why it would require Admin privileges...

Walk them around the office. Introduce them to the staff this is helpful.

Don't just dump and run,... show them how you do things for the office, but also explain that others may do the same task differently...

      OK. So...

O365 with hosted Exchange - Good idea.
      Azure - Bad idea.

That is not to say that O365 doesn't have it's trials and tribulations,.. But it has been the most stable.

Whether or not it's "swearing" is in the eye of the fucking beholder...

True as that is - 'swearing' doesn't have to be used as often as it is. Trust me,.. Having worked with computer for 30 years, having been in the US Military, and around others - I can use quite a bit of profanity. However I chose not to use it in a forum setting.

@RojoLoco if used indoors you'd for sure want to use it under a vent hood. we have one that pops up from the counter top that's pretty neat.

Yea,.. I have yet to see a house built in the last 15 years that still had an exhaust hood.
