      @garak0410 the Adam was a disaster.

      I have 17 ColecoVision games still.

      Yeah, the Adam sounded like an amazing thing but I never heard much good about it. Slow, clunky, graphics were not that much better, daisy wheel printing (nuff said), slow tape drive access...

      My favorite Coleco games? For some reason Tarzan always comes to mind though when I look back at it, it wasn't all that good. Their arcade ports were mostly excellent...I remember beating Carnival to the point where nothing but ducks would come at you and you couldn't win anymore.

      I still have the working ColecoVision!

      The only thing I've kept over the years is my Atari 2600 and over 100 boxed games. I went on a kick to get the early release games, with the generic "text labels" vs. the pictured and colored labels. Got a few rarities along the way. I've got a good ColecoVision emulator. I always wanted the Adam expansion but heard it was a debacle.

      That was a hard debate for me because I was an Atari fan-boy. I was absolutely crazy about the 2600 and I always wanted an Atari computer too since the days I saw them at Dillards when they had a 400 and 800 playing a very good version of Pac-Man. After going ColecoVision for my console (with the Atari 2600 adapter), I finally went all computer after that with the Commodore 64 and finally the Amiga.

      Yes, the good 'ole days... 🙂

      For Christian Artists I have gone to many many concerts, Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, News Boys, 3rd Day, Petra just to name a few. We have a huge festival about 45 minutes from me every year.

      In that genre', David Crowder has impressed me more than anyone. I've also seen Third Day, Casting Crowns, MercyMe...Plumb is also very good concert...

      I was a Kings Quest guy myself.

      Same here but before that, I was heavy into Infocom games...I could really envision the environments I was in just by the text. Zork, Deadline, Planetfall....loved them all. I was an Amiga guy by the time the Kings Quest games came out and despite the EGA graphics, I was jealous of my PC friends having games like that. Finally got the later editions of the games but then VGA was surpassing the Amiga and I finally made the jump to the PC.

      B movies typically aren't my thing. However, I found Mystery Science Theater 3000's screening of The Final Sacrifice, and spent an hour and half giggling like a schoolgirl. B movies may now warrant a closer look.

      Don't get me started on The Final Sacrifice...or I'll send Larry Csonka on you...Rowsdower rules!

      @NetworkNerd

      I use multiple backups jobs because I was used to that and it was faster having multiple jobs on my old backup software. I was not prepared for the speed of VEEAM. It used to take ALL NIGHT to just backup our file server. Now takes 45 minutes for the VEEAM incrementals. 🙂

      You can get The Seventh Guest for $1,49 right now. That game was pretty bad in 1995, I can't imagine playing it now.

      Yeah, I almost got it for nostalgic reasons but decided against it. The Tex Murphy series was well worth the cost (even if it didn't include the new game.)

      They almost tempted me with those.

      Love those games...was so excited when they made a new one a few months back. Promptly purchased it. It still has that 90's adventure game feel and features "Tom Servo's" voice as Tex's PDA. 🙂 . I've played with it some just not a lot of time. I am sure I'll get around to a lot of my GOG games when I am in my 70s. 🙂

      Yes...still have to use the FQDN when using remote desktop VIA VPN but it is working.

      Still having some quirks but this more or less worked over the weekend. Just had to use the FQDN when using remote desktop when on a VPN connection. Didn't have to before.

      It helps to think "out loud" on here. OK. Problem solved. I resolved the problem by setting the static IP range at the higher end of my pool. Signed into VPN with no problem and remote desktop with NO problem.

      @scottalanmiller

      Can you believe it? This server is going DOWN today. Wooo. Putting its old IP as a secondary IP on the new file server so those VBA projects will continue to work, doing the final demotion and we are done. Thanks for all your help!

      Except after the demotion, VPN has gone back to not allowing me to ping IP addresses or remote desktop. Any clue?

      LOVE GOG! I was having a party the day they released Zork Grand Inquisitor and have been patiently waiting Grim Fandango but I see where Sony has the rights to it and will be re-releasing it. Not sure if that means PS4 only though.

      @garak0410

      This problem bugged me so came into the office. I've made a successful VPN connection (woo) but cannot connect to desktop via Remote Desktop. The subnet mask should be 255.255.255.0 in my static address pool for VPN and it shows that subnet. When I VPN with a client, it shows 255.255.255.255 but with a good IP, good DNS server and no default gateway. Any way to fix that? If I can get that fixed, my work here is done and the old server is gone for good.

      @scottalanmiller

      Yes it responds...now, one thing I didn't know about is that there is a DIAL-IN tab for the users...it is not in the remote admin tools but I have to do it directly from the DC...I go into a remote user, go to the Dial-In tab and allow permission...bam...got in but then couldn't name resolve anything while on VPN and my network connection on my client went to limited...

      So firing up the old server for now to just retain VPN and figure it out next week...

      Going to remove and reinstall the Remote Access role. Just waiting for people to get out of here...come on people...it is well after 5 on a Friday! 🙂

      Can't work remotely?

      Well, Scott...I fixed that issue we discussed with the IP address of the old server needed for pre-migration created projects...adding it as a secondary IP to the new file server works like a charm. Now if I can get this dang VPN working, I can officially shut down that old, blasted server.
