      no, dont have that either.

Then you're going to have a difficult time keeping anything dry in that basement.... Sorry.

A sump pump will work to drain water that gets to it, but if the water is coming in from all corners and not being directed to a single point (a basin) then you'll likely have issues forever.

pre stressing about the incoming rain.

basement leaks when there's heavy rain and I've done almost everything I can think of to stop it from coming in .
Hoping that all the work i've done since tuesday pays off. .

Best get that basement pumps handy.

dont have one of those yet.
      lol

No sump pump? That's not good.

      No Sub Pump.. not yet..

Is there a basin at least?

      a what meow?

A hole in the basement floor that is setup as the low spot so that water drains to it, rather than just flooding the entire basement.

What hardware we talking about? Manufacturers models etc

Basically looking to get hardware details from HPE servers (mostly). ILO obviously would work and report on this, but when having any more than a handful of systems configuring and maintaining this would be painful.

What solutions are you guys using to monitor the health of your hardware within different sites, customers etc?

HP has a solution called HP OneView which may do what I want, but I'm not certain.

      Do you have any recommendations?

What RMM is in place? Most of them have monitoring built in that you could use.

The tool were using atm doesn't dona great job of it. I'd rather not divulge but changing an rmm isn't an option.

@iroal said in Booking dining room O365.:

Due to Covid, we have limited access in the office dining room.

The dining room allows 10 people simultaneously.

My idea is to create a room, or resource, in O365, that allows an occupancy of 10 people, but that can be reserved by 10 different employees. I don't want an employee to be able to reserve all 10 seats in the room.

      O365 or Outlook allow this?

      Thanks.

That's not really how resource scheduling works, you be better off having 10 individual resources which can be booked simultaneously, rather than 1 large resource.

      Have you actually tried it?

Yes I set it up in my lab and used it on some equipment/vms without issue.

I meant have you tried the patch management function?

      Yes.

      And the machines got patched?
      Mine isn't working, that's why I'm asking.

      Yeah mine did.

      Heh -
We are trying to use MS AutoPilot. Except that the PS Script Exception is blocking the needed script to onboard a new device. That have a the GPO set to block PS execution, so you can't build the device HWID file.

Thus far, I have not been able to get around the GPO to allow it.

I've love to say don't use Windows, and instead use something like Ubuntu and Ansible but the realities of the world are harsh.

Microsoft sinks standalone Hyper-V Server, wants you using Azure Stack HCI for VM-wrangling

Microsoft won't ship a new version of Hyper-V Server – the free tool it offers alongside Windows Server to build hybrid clouds and manage fleets of virtual machines – with Windows Server 2022.

Just one less competitor in the market space, which will only drive up VMWare sales for the small businesses that don't see the value in using hosted services.

Edit: And who don't have/know there are alternatives to hosted/VMware because of marketing.

South Korea law forces Google and Apple to open up app store payments

App store owners won't be able to lock developers into their 30 percent fees.
South Korea will soon pass a law banning Apple's and Google's app store payment requirements. An amendment to South Korea’s Telecommunications Business Act will stop app store owners from requiring developers to use in-house payment systems. The law also bans app store owners from unreasonably delaying the approval of apps or deleting them from the marketplace, which the country fears is used as a method of retaliation. As The Wall Street Journal reports, the law has passed South Korea's National Assembly (the country's Congress equivalent), and President Moon Jae-in is expected to sign the bill into law.

In OTHER NEWS the US is perfectly complacent with the Monopolies run by Google and Apple with regards to their respective App Stores.

I'd like to have more granular permissions options (like allowing users access to workstations but blocked on servers) but it's not a deal-breaker.

You aren't using a segmented network with firewall rules blocking incoming ports like RDP and SSH?

How does segmented networking affect the user permissions within Tactical. I get how it would segment the devices, but that does nothing for the RMM side. IE different teams of people to manage different equipment or resources.

@dbeato said in MS O365 Autodiscovery: Failing:

@dustinb3403 What do you mean disabling autodiscover for a user? Are you talking about a registry key?

No, within O365 you can either selectively disable authentication protocols because you're a glutton for punishment or you can do so with conditional access policies or Security Defaults.

Well you can disable Autodiscover as a whole organization through the modern authentication setting, however in order to have conditional access you have to have higher licensing than normal which is why I am confused at the disabling comment.

Just a P2 license to setup a conditional access license for the administrator account(s). The user accounts don't require this level of licensing.

Why is it a confusing question?
