      Eaton folks,

I'm looking to get to a near "High Availability" setup with my hypervisors switches etc, but powering this gets really expensive with UPS's etc.

What would be a cost effective solution to provide redundant power in the event of an power outage for my facility so we could effectively run for 4 hours on "Backup Power"?

      Servers, desktops, switches, and Routers.

      Thanks!

Here I thought that OpenXchange had stopped development since Zentyal removed it from their release.

It might just be the offering for the community edition, service patch support etc.

Still looks to be a viable system.

We rarely if ever disable a computer account, we just disable the user and reboot.

In event where a system is for some reason disjoined from the domain, we sign in locally and rejoin it. (WORKGROUP reboot/ Domain Reboot)

I've seen this happen due to time sync issues, long periods of time disconnected from the work network to name a few.

As for from 1 day to the next, I'd be thinking DNS or Time Sync issues... Is the system clock right on your DC and this machine?

    • RE: Fedora VM within Xen Expand Partition

For anyone else who might need to know how to do this on Fedora 22.

First, take a backup of your VM, it never hurts. And now I've warned you. 😛

Install the Fedora CD into your VM Disk drive, boot from CD.

      Select Troubleshooting
      Rescue a Fedora System

At the console confirm your filesystem path. Mine is at /dev/mapper/fedora-root

Changing 10G to whatever file size you need. To decrease use a -#G.

      lvm lvresize --verbose --resizefs -L 10G /dev/mapper/vgname-lvname

Let it complete, should only take a bit.

      reboot

There you have it, your Fedora Root Partition should now be expanded to whatever size you need.

    • Xen Over Allocate RAM and do not alert

So I have RAM over allocated and the Xen Tools installed to my VM's but am still getting alerts for "Over Allocated RAM".

How can I have the alert, but only when I exceed something like 120% of the server memory?

As it is in Citrix XenCenter the Alert configuration is listed in MB, not a percentage of memory.

      Thanks
