Now how they could have brought Death into this movie was during the inital fight with Francis, and he gets his ass kicked, and then pinned to the flood of the burning building.

Had Death in the background collecting the recently dead, which then Deadpool could have yelled for her to which she would've replied that he's not on her list yet.

    • Looking for willing participants and testers for XenServer, NAUBackup and BackUpPC

      So here's the skinny.

I want to test XenServer using only open source softwares. The only exception I'm willing to make is the use of the Citrix version of XenServer.

      • I want to use NAUBackup to create full backup's off host
      • I want to use BackUpPC to create incremental backup's off host
      • I want to restore with NAUBackup a completely deleted VM. (This I know works)
        • I also would like to create a VM with multiple disks, and try restoring using an incremental from BackUpPC
      • I then want test the restore functionality of BackUpPC

What I need is some people willing to test with me, as of right now I'm busy learning some new job responsibilities that are being put into my lap.

@scottalanmiller maybe we can carve some room out on those NTG servers?

    • RE: Computer imaging for depolyment

The way we have this setup is our Fog Server is running as a VM on our XenServer. Our Image is also running as a VM on XenServer.

We update the image, change the nic to be on the "fog network" (dedicated nics so we can push to a physical device) and upload to the laptop or desktop.

So can we just start shooting people who do things so erroneous that it's clearly on purpose.

I'm gonna get loaded tonight, stupid PXE...

It's probably buggy firmware on the systems I'm trying to image, but dang it's ticking me off.

    • XenServer and HA-Lizard

      @scottalanmiller said:

Or equally good depending on some other factors, XenServer + HA-Lizard. Recent tests from @dengelhardt showed that he was getting 20% better performance from XS over the VMware machines that he was replacing. So you get lower technical debt and better performance plus more features and no licensing restrictions all at once.

Paging @dengelhardt I need results and configuration information please!

Not even close, those people are welcome to come and go in their damn house. You on the other hand might get shot in the face if you just walk into someone's house uninvited.

RAID 0 SSD Array for Business / Enterprise servers..... really now... lets think about this...

Hrm If 1 SSD does fail before the MTBF mark is hit, that data is gone... smart thinking OP.

For data you could care less about sure, but there are very few businesses that care nothing about the data that's being used.

    • LaCie 2Big - Test the Controller

Is it possible to test the controller on one of these units?

So to summarize, we have 2 new drives installed, and I'm attempting to "Factory Reset" the unit. None of the instructions I've tried work. So I'm kind of stumped.

To me I'd just toss this unit out but I would also like to know for sure.

    • Linux for Business Roll Outs

Has anyone ever heard of or done a complete linux roll out for a business. IE From Domain Controllers, to Laptops has anyone every heard of or performed a complete linux roll out.

Either replacing Microsoft or as a brand new deployment for a company that now has a need for IT Infrastructure?

Just curious as I was reading a topic on another forum, where a small college campus in Russia is on such a tight budget that getting necessities required pulling teeth (think quit smoking commercials).

      Crap,
My XenServer home lab is running nice. Looks like I have a New Year's project.

The options are KVM, Hyper-V or ESXi, and based on my experiences with KVM and their lack of hypervisor level backups leaves me greatly wanting.

    • RE: Businesses asking - what should we offer

@BRRABill But at some point, you and the business you worked for said. "Hey we need to offer more or different products, we need to differentiate our business.

To provide more than an single stream of income, and had some kind of a plan.

Sure the plan changed, but in the OP, the topic is specifically asking "What should we do to differentiate". There is no answer that will fit perfectly.

No one can say "Hey we're doing this, if you can do this we'd all win" It's not a crystal ball.

Only from the OP's own conversation with their clients and seeing what they "need" even if they don't know it could the OP (and business) determine a new product line to offer/support.
