I'm assuming this is a metal building, with a metal skin on it. If so, you treat the L part of the building as completely separate because the walls will block most of the signal.

RE: windows server 2008 R2 SP1 license (physical VS virtual)posted in IT Discussion
@IT-ADMIN Are you looking at VL? IF so you cant buy 2008 anymore. You will have to buy 2012R2 which will give you 2vms for the host the license is applied to. You can use 2008 for both of those VMs if you want with a VL's downgrade rights.

RE: What does your Service Level Agreement look like?posted in IT Discussion
@scottalanmiller I just saw all that as extra overhead. I had enough clients that didn't want it that I wouldn't take a client that did.

I imagine in that situation you won't be thinking about what part of the body you are aiming at, all you will do is aim at the largest part of them (center mass)

Microsoft SAM Self Auditposted in IT Discussion
So I was contacted by Microsoft (3rd Party representing Microsoft) to do a SAM Self Audit. Has anyone filled out the Spreadsheet that they send out?
I had a question filling this out and was curious what MLs thoughts were.
One of the questions asks if you are using Virtual Server technology within your environment.

Notice how the V and S are capitalized, so to me that is referring to a specific product eg. Microsoft Virtual Server and not virtualization in general.
What are your thoughts?

RE: Microsoft SAM Self Auditposted in IT Discussion
So, the company doing the SAM audit actually replied back to me and confirmed it is Just Microsoft Virtual Server.
These audit forms are pointless, they dont ask about any vm's or anything.

@jasonlow Looks good, just make sure you have a good backup before you start. Also I would setup the raid before the install... i don't like changing hardware after I install stuff.
