@scottalanmiller I'm pretty close to throwing in the towel. Their preferred method is fine for those running Docker, but I prefer using VMs and behind Nginx. I don't see why OO wants the certs to be installed manually, etc.

@travisdh1 You are not alone. I have spent more hours on this than I'd like to admit. Still cannot get it to work. I have read every document I can find. Each solution I find makes no difference.

Has anybody been able to get this to work with NC and OnlyOffice behind nginx?

Working on documentation - Moving info from hand-written notes to spreadsheets and docs. I know an IPAM system would work better but there are too many to choose from.

Decided to go with OnlyOffice and have it running. Both servers are behind nginx and https. It adds the menus in NC to create/edit docs but returns a normal NC page that has a white body. Seems like the majority of people use docker but I have OO running on a CentOS7 vm. Has anyone got this to work successfully? Both pieces are working but not together. Frustrated to say the least......
On the plus side... I found and corrected an issue with my nginx config on NC.

Sitting at a sports bar with the wife as she is talking out loud about how many ads and pop-ups were on a site she was looking at. She turned to me and said "now I see why you have that ad blocker running at home (pihole) and it makes a huge difference"! At least she noticed. 🙂

As far as Sophos goes.... my opinion is that the SG is a lot easier to navigate and set up than the XG. That being said - they both work well. You can download the XG software and try it out for free with full functionality.

@stacksofplates Nextcloud 16 is will only allow you to use https to connect to OnlyOffice. Have not tried to install Collabora yet. I guess I'll be trying that next. I have zero Docker experience.

Another browser-based issue I've seen is in Edge. If you click the Files button in the top left, it just spins. Tried on multiple machines and multiple NC 16 installs. Works fine in FF and Chrome. Swapping browsers for different applications is a pain.

is for the Community Version and is definitely different than the link posted above. It too makes no mention of Docker. The Docker option is there but not what I would choose. To me, Docker would just add a layer of complexity and more things to break
Yes, I have Nginx in front of all NC installs.

I have never used Docker. I'd have to figure that out first.

    • Onlyoffice vs Collabora in Nextcloud

I have a NC16 install that is replacing OneDrive. This is because of the way they were trying to use Onedrive (against TOS) and overall storage limits. They have O365 Business Premium. The client wants online editing, to avoid dealing with locks on files that multiple users edit, etc.

In comes OnlyOffice / Collabora in Nextcloud. I know some users here went with OnlyOffice. Are these solutions viable and is OnlyOffice the recommended platform? There may be a way to utilize O356 but I can't see how to make it seamless.

@DustinB3403 I agree. I can't stand going through the audits. Every year there are different "rules" and they vary by examiner.

In banking, according to FFIEC, it is "bad" to use open source software. The Cybersecurity Assessment Tool gives you a "lower" score if you use OSS.

Fun day today. FreePBX appliance crashed today and the backup was corrupted. Tried most of the day to revive it. It appears the board died and took the drive with it. According to the documentation, I should have been able to restore the 13 backup to a new 14 install but it would not work. Had to rebuild from scratch. This time it is running as a VM in Hyper-V and there is a night/day difference in performance versus the appliance. I'm not an expert at these but it could have been worse. Only 27 extensions and 2 trunks.

@JaredBusch Just to clarify... I chose custom and it already used the max allowable for / I did not have to make any changes.
