I found 3CX to be unnecessarily complicated. A bit harder to use than more powerful and less constrained alternatives like Elastix and FreePBX. And needing a Windows license makes 3CX extra complicated and normally costly too.
That might be true if you already have a linux admin on staff.....

but the SIP trunk is related to his internet connection, so we need to ask him about his bandwidth

How many phones do you have? $5,000 is going to be tight.
Might have to wait until 2016 until we get a new budget.
50 Phones

get a phone system that can take PRI/T1 Directly
I did think about that. What system would you suggest?
@thecreativeone91 said:
What part are you referring to that's so expensive?
Looks like PRI Gateways are 2K
@thecreativeone91 said:
Why do you want to keep POTS lines?
I don't, but I can't drop that much money on this.
We already have POTS lines. Do they make a POTS to VoIP Gateway that is cheaper?

Why does the fact that you are already paying for justify counting to pay for it?
They had to run fiber to the building so we are locked in for 5 years.

A SIP Trunk. I Doubt it comes with your internet package, maybe they put the costs together so you don't see the individual. I'm sure it's in no way a freebie included with the internet.
I agree. It's not free, but we are already paying for it.
As much as I would like it to, the company policy will not be changed, no matter how much I beg,

Company Policy. We never have more then 4 calls at a time.
You should question the company policy and try to get it changed then. If you only have 4 calls at a time a PRI is way over kill (both in size and pricing).
We already have the PRI connection, it comes with our ISP package. What would you suggest over PRI?
@g.jacobse said:
Why the limitation to a PRI? From what I know, PRIs are limited to 23 (simultaneous) connections.
Company Policy. We never have more then 4 calls at a time.
We have a aging Siemens PBX that is starting to fail (having to reboot it daily, etc.)
What's a good replacement?
I have started testing 3CX, but now I am wondering if there is something easier.
I can use VoIP internally, but I have to use a PRI connection for external calls. (Company Policy)
@thecreativeone91 That is correct. Not released yet.

I installed it at release but did not like that it was not able to work with the full B&R suite and use the same target.
That was supposed to be address in the next B&R update to come after the release. I should really go back and verify that. I really want to make use of this.
It works
