Windows 7 Pro Media for HP Folio 13
-
I have an old (2012) HP Folio 13 that is licensed for Windows 7 Pro but has no media (never did.) I need to get Windows 7 installed again so that I can update the license to Windows 10, but I don't seem to have any account with access to Windows 7 downloads. What would be the recommendation for source media to do an installation? It's all licensed, just need to reinstall.

I have one on a USB stick here in my office

Maybe that's the original one for this one Well that makes things easy. It's an ISO image?

It will likely need to be an HP OEM image... I don't think VL or Retail media will work with OEM keys, will it?

No its from many many installs for clients when we need Windows 7 still. And yes it is an ISO

Make sure to figure out the USB and Networking drivers before we reinstall.

It just needs to be OEM media, not the actual OEM media.
But not using the actual OEM media is against the rules.

Then Microsoft should fix it so that the OEM key only works with the same OEM manufacturaer..... IE: An HP OEM key will only work with an HP OEM ISO / Media.
For personal stuff, I refuse to play by anal rules like that.

Yes it did, and not that doesn't mean that. It's imaged by a central system. OEMs don't install from media.

No but it means you can purchase recovery media from HP to be "legit".

None offered when you go to look.

Do you have the HP recovery partition still on this system?
Just a dumb question, but worth asking.
