Didn't say that it was a bad deal, just that it is not surprising that they can do it. The hardware is very cheap and the price is reasonable. They are making plenty of profit on this stuff but not charging an arm and a leg.
Ah ok. I must have read something into that then. I wonder if they have any American Data Centers.

Bad math, deleted my post

While I was reading it even, lol.
One thing to definitely ask about is the setup fee. Most places will only charge you that fee once from the few places I have checked and asked.

Likely once per server. They need that to pay the bills.

They appear to be Canadian. I can't find mention of their locations except that North America and Europe are mentioned and someone mentioned "not Belgium."
-
No USA Locations - Beauharnois, Canada
-
We used to colo in a datacenter that also did dedicated servers like this. White box desktops with their cases open and fans blowing on them. It was pretty scary seeing what was in the other half of the facility.

That is partially how they keep the price down. Hosting is cheaper in Canada. Top tier server hosting, the absolute best in the country, tops out at $70CDN per U. You can often get that down to around $40 USD if you hunt for deals.

Are you sure that datacenter isn't where the C@C guys run their stuff? lol.

It was in the US or else I'd be suspicious.

Their parent company, OVH starts at ~$70/month for some nice systems too. I'm going to keep these guys on my radar though. If I come across some extra money, I'm going to spin up a XenServer with them.

The place with the fans on the whiteboxes was in the US.

@scottalanmiller Oh, gotcha

I am going to give it a go, what do I have to lose (besides $50), it's month to month, cancel anytime
-
Nice! 1 Canadian Dollar equals 0.71 US Dollar so it's only $19.86/Month US! (Right Now)

Yeah, USD is really strong compared to the CDN right now. Perfect time to visit Canada, which we plan to do. You can look for the Miller family to be living in Canada this summer.

Let me know what you think. I'd be willing to try it too once I get some extra $$ in the bank.
