I'll have to see if I can find the pictures of the 10+ player poker table I made over a decade ago.

It was perfect, but it was pretty nice, with a padded rail and a leather center betting zone (instead of felt).

The real question: Do you still have it?

Do I? technically no, it's at a friends house... That was the last place it was used.

The new frequent game I attend doesn't have the space to use it, so I'll probably just sell it.

I was thinking a convertible table with a flat top for eating that can be taken off to reveal a sunken playing area. The big thing I want to do is add side rails that can mount book holders or small writing surfaces for character sheets. This way they are off the table but still accessible.

There's a company that does that full time. But damn their tables are pricey. I think a small table starts at $1500. The larger tables are well over $5K.

I happen to know someone who builds things like this @art_of_shred, just not in winter (shop isn't heated).

But I have a heated shop and a wood worker I can borrow during the winter. He's super busy so most of his tools don't get a lot of use right now.

Yeah Art works too much for me on the NTG side these days to do much woodworking.

The question is.. does he bring in more cash with NTG or wood working?

                          Woodworking isn't as steady.

That makes sense, unless you can find your way into making commercial furniture, you'd need a huge customer base with tons of cash to make that type of work steady.

@Dashrender Yeah pretty much. He did that and remodeling for years. But it sucks in the winter months.

If that was a primary source of income, wouldn't it make sense to install a propane heater in the garage?

I'm finally parking in the garage again - and I'm considering installing one 😛

That's a double entendre if I've ever heard one 😉

Actually, I have a complete woodshop, aside from the garage. The main issue is with things like open-flame heat sources and sawdust...
