Supposing that NTG's internet is powered by 1HAMP (1 hamster power), what would you need to run it 24x7 with any degree of reliability?
To begin, some definitions:
RAIHAM 1 - Two wheels, with a hamster each.
RAIHAM 0 - Single wheel, two hamsters
RAIHAM 10 - Two wheels, two hamsters eachGiven the below data sets, we see hamsters run an average of 4 hours per day
http://stats.stackexchange.com/questions/114305/analysis-of-hamster-wheel-rotational-dataAs hamsters are nocturnal and primarily active at night, you will need to have at least 6 RAIHAM's setup on separate light/dark schedules.
Assumptions:
- Hamsters are fed and cared for
- Hamsters will run together on the wheel
NTG's hamsternet will require 12 RAIHAM 10's setup into 6 banks of 4 hour offset groups to achieve even close to 99% uptime.
NTG's hamsternet will house 48 hamsters, who will run on average 192 miles every 24 hours.

Well then... I'd say you need to get a hobby but it looks like you already got one.

I There was an error in the RAHAM controller on that one... Too many hamsters on the platter.

Ah, @MattSpeller for forgot to account for a three-phase connection in his formula. I think he only accounted for normal 120v single phase/240v split phase.

Is there any adjustment for fancy hamsters compared to normal ones?

The fancy ones require a cleaning process for their food. Which requires another hamster to run.

Got to love dependencies...

Hamster Loadable Modules.
-
You can download a new HPM "Hamster Package Manager" and install new packages that way. It handles the dependencies automagically. Commands look like this...
hpm --install wheel_x64
-
But a lot of users these days will opt for a GUI that handles all of the complexities of the HPM command for you. The popular one is called Hamper.

Sorry, can't say that Gooey is one I want to get my hands on. Especially that Hamper. I hear it can be full of,.... ah... bad code.

Better than working directly with a hamster back end.

You have a point... but the front end can be just as unpleasant. It's designed to be all nice and cute,.. but when you try to interact with it,..it can really cause aggravation and choice words
