How Much Does MangoLassi Guide NodeBB?
-
So I'm curious...I know we are, by far the largest and most active community running NodeBB. However, my curiosity was about how much of their development is catered based on the plans and objectives laid out at the founding of this community. I've noticed they're developing things that go totally against what was discussed at the outset (the gamification of the platform) but they've also implemented many other ways of doing things that seem to be less popular, although not unheard of (like marking a thread as unanswered versus solved instead of an individual answer(s)). Just curious.

We have learned that while we are the largest publicly listed we are not quite to the size of the largest ever. Although with our current growth we could be to the largest yet this year. Our growth rate is pretty crazy at this point.

Is it that site that imported from it's old platform to NodeBB that's technically the largest?

That one is public and we blew them away.

However we do have the longest single thread and the most viewed single threads.

Who the f cares? This is not some game of we are the best do what we say.

Considering that ML is not hosted by NodeBB I'd say that our influence is on the very low side. We get some amount of influence just because we are busy and site behaviour is somewhat unique so that the devs like to look at the site and are interested in what we do, how we do it, how well it works, how the code holds up, etc. But as far as influence we are only a slightly more vocal than a random open source user and that puts us way, way below the influence of the paying customers.

I was just curious. I like to know things just for the sake of knowing.

I had my last SpiceCorps of the year and brought MangoLassi up on the screen and gave a presentation about it and it's history - hopefully some of those 30 SpiceWorks users will check us out.

Funny, because I presented at SpiceCorps in Atlanta about a week ago and I mentioned ML as well!
