@coliver What are you picking up?
I have an DD-WRT router that I need to replace. It's crazy reliable but I've hit some limits that I wasn't expecting. I would like to get some Ubiquity gear.

I'm doing just that Thursday. Hope to get an ER-X and AP-AC-PRO for the house.

Now I'll channel JB - why the Pro? do you need more than 800 Mb/s over wireless?

Yeah, I know. We've got an ER-X running our multi-wan 2x 760kx360k DSL and a couple UAP-AC-LITE units at work. Really, really want to get off of the consumer junk at home.

VoIP is coming in the future for me. I need to wait for JB to finish his FreePBX setup guide. I want to make sure I'm doing it the right way.

No need to wait. FreePBX is ridiculously easy to setup and configure. It's an appliance and the majority of inputs have well explained prompts. Any place you get stuck just post about it here.

Long history of enterprise VoIP hardware. Plus they make FreePBX itself
-
Buying Sangoma phones is a good way to support the FreePBX project, too.

Have you held the Ubiquiti phones? Do they feel like they were manufactured well?
