I think most would consider them "brown".

Muslim is a religion, if someone considers them anything, that's pretty racist. If a white person converts to Islam, they don't become a brown person. And Semites (Arabs and their kin) are considered white (using Semites in Hollywood is the core of "white washing" that people complain about; and Iranians are the very definition of white - considered the "original" white race by many. Which is a bit weird, but they are as white as white can be. What non-white large Muslim group does anyone even know of outside of Indonesia and Pakistan?

Yes, but it's about perception. The guy who posted that was talking about, I'm sure, Europeans and Americans who are, predominantly, caucasian, or "white". Let's not get hung up on semantics. I get what you're trying to say, but take it with the intent it was meant with.
