SAM storage webinar
-
I'd be interested.
Oh... wait!

Can you give a rundown of the topics that you would like to see covered? Storage gets pretty broad on its own. Some things that I can think of are SAN, NAS, DAS, VSA/VSAN/DRBD/HAST virtual storage, Scale Out (Gluster), RAID, Storage Spaces, HD, SSD, understanding block devices, logical volume management, software and hardware RAID, etc.

Overall, I feel pretty weak in storage. Any topic would be great. Using iSCSI and SCSI between multiple VM hosts in clusters is what I struggled with on my test. I have done it in labs, but I struggle to understand anything slighly outside of the box. Honestly, though any topic would be great.

RAID and logical volume management would be great too
-
Considering the planning I need to do,.. I might be as well.
-
I also would like this!
-
I'd watch.
-
Maybe you could include a "non-traditional storage solutions - thinking outside the box" section. I can think of a particular product to highlight here, maybe with a guest speaker? This might be a topic for a separate webinar, though.
-
Maybe a webinar series would be in order. A single webinar is probably not going to cut it.

Agreed. @scottalanmiller , that'd be a great thing for you to put out. Video training. You should create a YouTube channel for it!
-
@ajstringham A MangoLassi YouTube channel...do those other guys have such a thing?

They have a channel but it's just recordings of their webinars. It's not really video training, just recorded sessions. I'm thinking more along the lines of a (sponsored?) video training library made by the community, for the community.
-
I'd be willing to contribute. Considering how the videos are playable inside the post on here, a YouTube channel would be awesome!
-
Why not make it more pluralsight like and create ML own training/video area but free. like training.mangolassi.it or something rather than using youtube mainly. could bring more traffic for @Minion-Queen
-
@thecreativeone91. That's a very good idea. Sponsored by GroveSocial partnering with NTG.
-
<wishes he could contribute,.. but after 25 years still considers himself a understudy>

@scottalanmiller is not allowed to do any 101 classes. Why?
- It's a waste of his time.
- He'll overwhelm us with info and the 101 will become a 301 without him even realizing.
I think we could make this a really good community project!
-
Excellent idea. Scott likes doing this stuff anyway, and having a site or channel devoted to it makes sense.
-
It's the video production and editing that is the biggest challenge.

A simple screen recording program with a good microphone is all it takes.
