Does anyone know if i-devices can be setup to backup their email account setups (say AOL - don't ask) so when a user gets a new device the information is automatically reconfigured on the new device?

I just replaced an iPhone for a user, entered his Apple ID, and his Yahoo e-mail account details magically appeared from iCloud. He just needed to re-enter the password.

        So, yes. It appears so.

Works on mine. Gmail in my case. And NTG's Office 365.

I've noticed it's flaky. Works for some but not others. It never worked for me. I know some people can even get there imessage texts to backup, I never did get them to.

OK, in digging more into it.. it seams that Apple needs to do what Google did a few years ago.. Merge all of their accounts a single one. The app store and the iCloud appear to be able to be separate accounts (though perhaps that's only for legacy people).

You can choose to use different google accounts for sync too. It is all in the user decision making process. I mean, yeah if would never want to use different ones just because, but you can.
