Child's PC for Schooling
-
There's a possibility My son will need to do remote learning - Not so much of an issue, except The babysitters his mom and I have lined up do not have Home PCs or Laptops that can be used.
He's 5, So im not to terribly worried about him Searching things up. We're working on his reading and such as it is.
Regardless - I'm looking for a cheaper laptop that I can Set up for him to use while at other peoples homes/my home/ Work office (if the need arises) to do his schooling- keeping him on task will be my issue outside of the laptop - he doesn't like to sit still.
What are other Parents doing for their kids during the remote learning Situations?I just want to be prepared and have a plan in case it turns into a need in the future.
any ideas would be appreciated. -
We use Chromebooks.

Tablet for that age. Something cheap that will work.
7-8" with WiFi. Lenovo is pretty good.

@WrCombs Tablet would probably be the easiest solution.

I'm Guessing that tablets would have some kind of Parental Control function, right?
Be able to lock it down so he can only use the School Apps etc ? -
Assuming normal here... Your school should be telling you what they need/want.
Our district has a 1:1 policy for devices, so they provide devices.
K-2 get iPads and 3-8 get Chromebooks. 9-12 is a different district and I don't know what they do yet. That aside, they likely use Google Classroom. That works on everything.

Be able to lock it down so he can only use the School Apps etc ?On Android you can have multiple users and you can limit access to apps and content for each user. There are parental controls as well but I don't know what they can do.

Be able to lock it down so he can only use the School Apps etc ?If you use Chromebook tablets, there are no apps conceptually by default. And there are regular user accounts.
