iPhone 4S issues

My iPhone 4s Messed up today.
a little history, I bought it used and have had it almost 1 year. It's an AT&T and I use it on straight talk. It's a 32GB and was suppose to be in "Like new" condition from ebay.
When I got it the dock connector wouldn't work well (and the speakers internally didn't work as the dock connector disables them) I replaced the dock connector. And then the battery as it wouldn't last anytime either. I replaced the screen assembly about 3-4 months ago. The other day the screen wouldn't come on from pushing the home button or the power button, I hard reset it and then it worked fine later that day the power button quit working, I took it apart and found the button was missing the black spacer thing on them, which cause it to sink in and have to travel to push the dome button. I ordered a new ribbon cable (which is the power button, proximity sensor and light sensor.) It came into day and I replaced it but when I put it back together the phone no longer works correctly.
What it does,
Back light on screen will come on but no display.
Sometimes (but not most) it will boot all the way and I can try to use Siri but it will say "Siri not available" (screen still not working, nor are incoming calls).
I can get it into DFU mode and load up on the computer (iphone screen still backlight only) but when I check the info on the phone it shows "iPhone 4s, Serial: N/A) usually it would show the serial number which is odd.Do you think it's worth trying to replace the display again? It seems like it's a logicboard issue which sucks, I have bunch of people who will be calling me for interviews and such but little income to spend on a new phone right now. It doesn't seem like it's just the display, which is odd. I've tried powering it with various ribbon cables disconnected to see if something else is causing the issue, but so far nada.

That really sucks. Old phones have lots of reliability issues. @dominica has an older iPhone 4 or 4S with loads of problems. She is just trying to hold out long enough to get the 6 when it releases.

@scottalanmiller Or she could just get an S5 and call it a day.

It's pretty sad when that cost as much as a netbook or low end laptop but don't last near as long... probably by design though.

The difference in abuse is dramatic. Use your netbook, 24x7, charging fully twice a day, run in your pocket, get thrown around, etc. No computer lasts that long under those conditions. The phones are actually freaking amazing that they do what they do while taking so much abuse.

I think it really depends on how tough you are on things. I have a 4s that has now been passed around to 5 people within the company and was mine for 2 year and it is still going strong, no battery issues even.
Phones do take a beating, I am pretty sure if I did that to my tablet it would never last.
AJ- you tout your Android's etc. but I know for a fact you recently had to do a factory reset on your phone cause of issues with it. Wanna know how many times I have had to do that across the last 3 Iphones I have had? Not even once. I have only had to shut them down and restart due to updates etc. once or twice total. Weather you like IOS or not is a personal opinion there is no fact there. Each phone has it's own unique things that it can/can't do but it comes down to what you like working on.

I agree completely with @Minion-Queen, my wife's iPhone 4 has been having the issue of the screen not being 'locked' while on a call. So it mutes, dials, hangs up on her while she has it to her ear. Mine has an issue with the Bluetooth, in that the headset can be within two feet of the phone and it will drop / connect repeatedly. Every device has it's own 'personality'....
We are holding off until the 6 comes out and going to the 5 since it should be 'free' with plan. We are still under the grand-fathered AT&T Unlimited plan on data, we don't want to give that up. Not to mention all the APPs we have for the iOS. I have thought about going to Andriod - there are some things that the iOS devices can't do (mSD card for one).
Over all - since the iPhone 3, I've had pretty decent luck with it. Of course I get an Otter box and a screen cover for it right off to protect it. I don't think I have ever broken a screen - though sometimes I've thought about throwing it into the river a time or two.

@Minion-Queen is absolutely right! While I personally don't want to be locked into Apple's ecosystem, I have to applaud them on how, in general, bullet proof their system is. Android will never see that kind of stability due to the open nature of it. With all of the carriers putting their own spin on each device. I'd really like it if Android was a bit more locked down, and frankly a little more user centric than app centric (i.e. users could pick and choose which permissions to allow an app to have), but I understand by allowing this there is a much greater percentage that users will require tech support because they don't understand what the options are, or why they are making them, which is fraking hilarious considering all those that are freaking out over the new'ish Facebook Messenger app.
Sadly I do believe that most non technical people should be on an iPhone instead of an Android because they simply want their device to work, they don't want to care about security or compatibility issues and iDevices definitely offer a better solution to that end.
It would be awesome if there was a way for Apple to provide unlocked access for those of us who want more personal control, then perhaps I'd consider switching (oh OK probably not, but still).

For me the major reason for IPhone is the stability. I love some of the "toys" with Android but need my email, phone, MS office apps to just work. No restarting no dealing with patches etc.
I am looking forward to the Windows phones as they get more stable over time and may try one out again I a year or 2.

I did factory restore it recently. I had also loaded a ton of crap on it and it was easier to do a restore in 15 minutes than spend 2 hours trying to hunt for everything. For someone like me, who uses Google for dang near everything, Android not only makes sense, but it's the preferred platform. I HATE the "one button to rule them all" concept of iPhone. There are different models of Android and they aren't locked down by Google but often rather by the carrier. Apple can't say the same. Besides, I know you've had issues with your iPhone in the past as well.
