Yeah I am guessing. I asked a question to try and clarify things a little. Hopefully that will help him get the information he needs:
We've had A LOT of bad luck with MSPs in the past. We used to just contract out for techs. It we've used a lot of MSPs for other projects just because we don't have a ton of staff in IT. But, most of the time these MSPs would take projects and then we'd find out they actually didn't know how to do the stuff yet, they planned on just guessing as they went or asking us a bunch of questions to get it done. I have no dobut that the bigger MSPs do better but they aren't around here. I think the majority of the super small ones are like that.

@thecreativeone91 what kinds of apps are you asking MSPs to help you support? If they are custom or apps that don't have a HUGE install base, think Windows, Office, browsers maybe something like MAS 90, etc... You're not going to find a single shop who can support all the little stuff. Anyone who does support that stuff is going to be more expensive because they have chosen to specialize in a smaller used product set, supply and demand tells you that their rates will be higher.

We don't have any custom apps. aside from random tools I've made which are just for diagnosing.
Most of it is pretty simple Windows 7(was some XP then) and office apps issues. Generally they tend to be users having issues with email. also some troubleshooting if sites don't load properly for one user (resetting IE, installing plug-ins etc). We also got an MSP to install our IP PBX but they never did it, we paid half up front and at least we got the hardware, but it was a months before they could even figure out how to setup digium, which supposedly they had done before (they gave us a list and we did check refernces) I think from what I found out the guys who used to do them quit, and no one knew how to do them anymore. anyway I ended up just doing it myself in the matter of a few days.

I wish I had pictures of some of the CAT5/RJ-45 terminations they do as well. none of them even had the jacket crimp in the RJ-45 the the individual conductors would be expects for a 1/2 or so even outside the RJ-45.

I'm wondering if some of it's an issue with the new layout they rolled out or something. I'm noticing some posts are missing with the new layout. I can't even see some of my own that I'm getting spice notifcations for.
I've seen cache issues where a whole page was missing.

I've heard a lot of complaints about heavy moderation there. Haven't seen it first hand but it is apparently making a big stink. A few months ago it was really being talked about a lot. Seems to have died down, though.
