The initial purchase includes a year of maintenance/support. Is it required to maintain support to use the application after the first year?

If I understood you correctly, I believe not.

But you won't be able to upgrade to the latest version of the software, and support is really encouraged, specially for backups.

The license is perpetual, but you'd lose support and updates. I strongly suggest renewing Veeam.

That is never my decision. I always suggest support subscriptions as long as it includes upgrades. Still I only suggest.

Thanks for the responses, I needed to be 100% clear on this for the proposal.

I can confirm that software will work, even if maintenance contract is over. Though, neither support nor upgrades will be possible and you will also get notifications saying that the maintenance is expired. More information regarding licensing can be found on our Community Forum. Thanks.

Seriously? a nag screen? I suppose it's helpful for the 30 days following up the expiration, but beyond that it's just harassment.

@Dashrender It's not a message, but rather a simple tag. When support contract is expired, e-mail notifications will have [SUPPORT EXPIRED] tag at title. Thanks.

OK that cool. Thanks for the explanation.
