Bitdefender box for home users

What are your thoughts on the Bitdefender Box (Version 2) for home users?
Is it a detriment that the antivirus on your gateway is the same as on your PC? I have always liked having a different AV on my PC than what is on my gateway. (What one may miss the other may detect.)

Having both the same is definitely a negative - to the point that one has to ask... why bother? What good does the network one do?

UTM for home users? What are you looking to protect against? Unless you have machines without AV on them, what will this do?

@scottalanmiller I had a client ask. The only benefit I see is if you had the Bitdefender box with another A/V like Webroot for example. Other than that, I didn't see much value.

Compare to what bitdefender box provides PiHole only does ad blocking. Minds well setup a squid box with squidguard instead.

Yes, if they are totally different technology then some small value exists, I agree. But if they are the same, that's just silly.

Its been a long time since I used it. So I don’t know how well it is now.

Nope, have never found it to be that great. Not that it is bad, but having used it, it was only so so.
