Using RASDIAL to connect to configured VPN
-
To continue with the ever evolving script I have for a client, I have added
rasdial
Curiously enough, it worked and was added to the script, but now any time I use it, I receive:
Error: 691: The remote connection was denied because the user name and password combination you provided is not recognized, or the selected authentication protocol you selected is not permitted on the remote access server.
What is interesting is as I understand it,
rasdial
users the phone book entry to connect. With the entry working if you click on the network icon and select the VPN connection. But when invoked from the script, it doesn't work. If it connects 'the long way' around - what would cause it to not connect via command line?

Sub information:
This VPN connection is to the ERL onsite. All of the VPN security is handled by the ERL - not the domain.

Been looking for a solution to this off and on, but as I kept running into the same wall I wasn't expecting much.
Found today that I need to use RASPHONE as rasdial doesn't work on some protocals

Are you sure it's not the same kernel bug that @JaredBusch found?

Has nothing to do with the ERL kernal bug. it was a limitation of the rasdial. attempts in using rasdial resulted in error 691,
Thanks though.

The Kernel issue is not on the ER side.
