Then the info on them taking money from advertisers started to surface - apparently, you can pay them to call your ad "acceptable". I think they finally added the option to not show those ads, but their shitty, shady business practices made me hold them at arm's length. IE is literally the only reason I use them at all.
You can always just turn it off.

That must be why I've never seen them. I've never left that checked.
