The company run by Elon Musk has agreed on financing terms with existing shareholders and new investor Baillie Gifford & Co., who will pay $186 per share for new stock, valuing the company at $30.5 billion, according to Journal sources. Lark is a normal word that's been used for centuries. "Having a lark" is just goofing off.
Well - like Dustin and his lack of monkeys - I guess i have a lack of larking.

being Shakespeare's 1000 monkeys.
I've never heard of that before.
OK it was a horrible take on the phrase - give enough time to 1000 monkeys and they'll make the works of Shakespeare.
I've literally never heard of the infinite monkey theorem
How is this even possible.
Well I also hadn't heard of furries and larking until I've seen them in movies.
So I guess I'm weird?
Larking or LARPing?
Yeah that stupid thing. LARPing Larking whatever it's call.
I don't actually know what larking is - LARPing - Live Action Role Playing, that I know.
Live Action Role Killing, it's a very contact-heavy form of role playing

It's not role playing in the traditional sense because normally they don't follow the RP rules, it's more of a false pretense of RPGing to attempt to add credibility to playing dress up.
-
Not that there is anything with adults playing dress up, to each their own. Just don't pretend it is something that it is not. If you are going to play dress up for fun, own it.

Well, I don't know, I barely get dressed to live normal life, I don't want to do a bunch of other stuff and have to pretend at the same time.

Exactly - I suppose some will argue that the 501st is LARPing, because in general most people try to stay in character while interacting with the public. I don't consider it LARPing because i'm not running around fake shooting Luke.
I really dislike the term cosplay - just WTF... I guess Costuming was to hard of a word to spell.

501st is not LARPing because there is no RPG element to it. Not even a pretend one. It's pure cosplay / costuming. LARPing is super weird because of the weird overlap of costuming with PRETENDING to act out RPG scenes, but without the RPG elements of it.
If you did true costuming + true RPG, the result would be nothing like LARPing.

Cosplay is mostly just hot chicks dressing up like anime (or whatever) characters. Anything outside of that is... well..... kinda useless.

Most cosplay is just a bizarre pretense for semi-public stripping. Which is bizarre that society is so against stripping, but so okay with it when it gets weird.

I can't agree with most - but definitely what mostly gets attention by the national news is just what yous said.

Because getting dressed up like an animated character is an art form (literally) and stripping just entails taking one's clothes off.

Yes, but it is getting UNDRESSED as an animated character. It's just a cartoon character stripping.

I know a lot of girls who do it to strip (many get paid.) I know very few guys who do it (stripping or not.)
-
Very small cross section But for girls it's become just "something you are expected to do" as a girl between 16 and 30.

Stripping? WUT? Cosplay is about wearing a costume. Not removing it.

I've never really paid any attention to cosplay, but I've not actually seen people getting naked in public. I've seen different levels of undress occurring as a part of the costume though.

Umm, not even. Your self imposed limited world view is so annoying.
