You should have been up here. We heard that strike. It was nuts. The volume of thunder was crazy. I was up much of the night because no one could sleep, it was so loud. Woke everyone up, kids were crying. The one strike was so close that could hear the thunder while still seeing the lightning! Shook the house so hard my daughter's light up sole sneakers lit up with no one wearing them!
Wow, that's crazy but awesome. I'm a thunderstorm fan though. I miss them. There was one here the other night, but it was late.
Me too, for me it was fun.

@scottalanmiller a few years ago we had a bolt strike the neighbors tree. You could taste the ozone in my house.
I had my house get hit when I was little, maybe five years old. I can still see it happening. Luckily, no damage. Must have grounded.
-
@scottalanmiller You weren't the only one. Kids had just gone to bed for us when we were getting bombarded with lightning strikes, more than usual and closer in proximity. I would estimate probably 2 where within 2 blocks of me. When I was driving out this morning, I saw a utility truck near a tree. Not positive but I assumed lightning struck the tree.

That would explain the issue I am having in one of the classrooms
-
YouTube might be back up but I was signed in before it went down. I'm signed out now.

They might want to think about it, with you know, billions of users
-
It was a massive global outage apparently. Wonder if Google will post a postmortem.

@coliver I don't understand how that even happens with someone as big as they are.

Someone oopsed with Ansible and took down their media distribution servers? Just a guess.
-
@coliver That would be a serious oops

LOL - I'm guessing someone stole their IPs - mass redirection of traffic - ok not really.

Possible but the traffic wasn't redirected it was just dropped. You could still access the Youtube interface just no videos, subscriptions, or anything was there.

Legal questions around border agents using your face to unlock your iPhone.
And to answer Scott’s statement, legal precedents on one form of biometrics, fingerprints, are that it is perfectly legal.
This is why I reboot my iPhone immediately when entering customs or an situation with police.
You are, currently, legally protected from being forced to divulge a password.
I didn't read every followup post here, but if you spam your power button (hit it 5 times), it forces passcode unlock and also dials for emergency services. This could be easier to do if you just reach your hand in your pocket or maybe you dont have time to hold the buttons and swipe the screen to turn off your phone.
